Continuity mistake: After Sarah rescues Ludo, she approaches the "two ugly characters" on the doors. In the close-up, as it pans from one door to the other, the vines that hang between the two doors differ from the previous and following shots. (00:45:05)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: When Jareth says "And Hoggle. If she ever kisses you..." between shots, the crow perched on the branch behind him is sitting on a different branch when he says the last part of the dialogue. (00:48:30)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: Through the song "Chilly Down," a tree branch is seen, as one of the Fireys hangs on it. This branch is short in close ups, but much longer in wide shots. (00:49:10)

Revealing mistake: In many shots throughout the film it is very obvious when it is a blue screen, plate and/or matte painting shot, by the area around the subjects and/or the subjects' appearance or disappearance onscreen. Some examples can be found with the Fireys and Sarah, during the Chilly Downs scene, and later, when Sarah breaks the glass with the chair, part of her face disappears when she stands with the glass behind her. Labyrinth mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Just after Hoggle pulled Sarah up, away from the Fireys he is standing by the rope he used to pull her up. In one shot as Hoggle says "Down, go away" the rope is hanging down off the ledge, but in the next shot, all the rope is pulled up, away from the ledge, and is in one big heap. (00:52:30)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: As Hoggle and Sarah fall out the end of the chute that leads to the Bog of Eternal Stench, look closer and you can see that Sarah falls through the end of the chute twice. (00:52:45)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: When Hoggle and Sarah fall out of the chute that leads to the bog of eternal stench, between shots, the amount and position of leaves on the ledge changes constantly. (00:52:45 - 00:53:40)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the "Chilly Down" scene, the firey with the long thin mouth and ponytail on the top of his head jumps on Sarah. The others gather around her. Then the chubby firey says, "Come on, Come on!" calling over another firey; however, all five fireys are in the shot around Sarah. The following shot is of the top half of a firey bouncing over on his hands, but this is the same firey that already jumped on Sarah and is still on her. (00:53:10)

Visible crew/equipment: When Sarah and Hoggle are in the Bog of Eternal Stench and they almost fall in, look in the top left hand corner of the overhead shot and you will see a boom microphone. (Only on Blu-ray edition). (00:53:40)

Visible crew/equipment: Just after falling into the Bog of Eternal Stench, the duo are moving along the ledge. As it breaks away, there is an overhead shot where you can see a white and blue piece of equipment at the top left corner of the shot. I don't know what it is but it's not in the next shot so it's not something natural to the Labyrinth. (00:55:45)

Knever

Continuity mistake: When Sarah and Hoggle slip off the ledge, at the Bog of Eternal Stench, they land on Hoggle, causing him to fall on his butt in front of particular rock face. However, in the following shot, before Ludo stands to release Hoggle, he sits about five feet further down. (00:56:20)

Super Grover

Visible crew/equipment: When Sarah and Hoggle slip off the ledge at the Bog of Eternal Stench, Ludo breaks their fall below. As they fall, in the wide shot, the lines holding Sarah and Hoggle are visible. (00:56:20)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: As Sir Didymus bangs the large grey brick holding the bridge up and says "Have no fear sweet maiden...", the large brick then suddenly falls. Between shots the amount of green fungus and moss covering the grey brick increases. (00:58:10)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: Ludo holds Sir Didymus up by his staff and promptly drops him on the ground. He gets up, whacks Ludo in the knee with his staff and then his plastic staff bends and folds over as it hits the knee. Yet in the following shots his staff is creaseless and straight again. (00:58:10)

Super Grover

Visible crew/equipment: After Sarah meets Sir Didymus at the Bog of Eternal Stench, Sir Didymus climbs on Ludo's back. While he is up there, the bottom portion of Didymus' right hand 'puppet control rod' is seen being controlled on Ludo's right side. The top portion of his right hand control rod is seen many times throughout his shots. His left hand control rod is concealed as his staff. (00:58:20)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: At the Bog of Eternal Stench, Sir Didymus is on Ludo's back and whacking Ludo on his head repeatedly. In the next shot Ludo bends over and Sir Didymus, who holds a clump of Ludo's hair in each hand, flips over Ludo's head. Sir Didymus' staff falls in front of Ludo's face between the clumps of hair onto the ground at his feet. Yet after Ludo sends Sir Didymus flying, way behind him, Sir Didymus jumps out from behind the rock with the staff in his hand. (00:58:25)

Super Grover

Visible crew/equipment: At the Bog of Eternal Stench Ludo summons the rocks with his howling, and we then see one shot of a rock rolling forward. You can see a thick wire attached the centre of the rock, pulling it forward to make it roll. (00:58:40)

Continuity mistake: When Sarah is hanging on the branch over the bog, Ludo calls a rock and the rock rolls into the bog, and is pretty round, with no large flat areas on it. However when it's floating in the bog, Sarah jumps onto it and the rock now has a very large flat area. (00:58:45)

Hamster

Audio problem: At the Bog of Eternal Stench, as they start to walks across the rocks in the bog, Didymus says "Steady, steady boy. Come on Ambrosius! Just close your eyes, and go!" His mouth doesn't move at all when this is said though. (00:59:50)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: When Sarah crosses the Bog of Eternal Stench, the bridge rails break, and then the bridge plank under her gives way and falls into the bog, while she clings to the tree limb. However, when Sir Didymus says, "It seemed solid enough," the left rail and the bridge plank are actually still intact. (01:00:25)

Super Grover

Sarah: That's not fair!
Jareth: You say that so often, I wonder what your basis for comparison is?

Trivia: In the scene where you get a look at Sarah's bedroom, if you look closely you'll see that many of the objects in her room resemble people or obstacles she meets in the Labyrinth. For example the book ends holding up her books look like Hoggle, she has a toy maze (labyrinth) and the doll in the music box is dressed in the same dress she wears at the ball. The music box also plays the tune of the song that Jareth sings to her at the ball.

Question: This has always confused me. In the scene with the guards, which one always lies and the other always speaks the truth, Sarah asks which door leads to the castle gate then she figures out the riddle and chooses a door. However, the door she chooses, the supposedly correct choice, doesn't lead her to the entrance instead it's a trap. So did she choose the wrong door, or just the wrong direction for the hands to take her?

Answer: To add to that, the other door was supposed to lead her to certain death, and technically the oubliette wasn't exactly certain death.

Answer: She did choose the right door...if she had chosen up, she would have very likely come out at the castle, but she chose down.

If you pay attention down was also the correct answer. The Goblin king was angry when he discovered she was down there "She never should have made it this far" or something similar upon finding this out. Had she chosen up she would have ended up back at the beginning.

Answer: Sarah did indeed select the right door and did ask a sensible, albeit confusing question. The reason she fell into the oubliette (and the helping hands) is because as she walked through the door she said "I think I'm getting smarter. This is a piece of cake" - saying "piece of cake" within the Labyrinth to say how easy something is brings bad luck upon those who say it. Sarah said it to Jareth and he upped the stakes (reducing her time). Hoggle said it later (in Goblin City) and then they got surrounded by Goblins.
