Trivia: When Derek confronts Maury, right before he does the Derelict show, the scene is a parody of the The Godfather: Part II scene where Michael Corleone confronts his brother Fredo, who had betrayed him.

Trivia: In the part where Maury Ballstein (Jerry Stiller) grabs the women's behind, the voice that says, "Oh Maury!" isn't the woman. It's Ben Stiller's wife, co-star Christine Taylor, doing a voice over.
Trivia: Ben Stiller said on Conan O'Brien's podcast that they filmed a much more grim version of the gasoline fight, with a long, drawn-out shot of the flames spreading and engulfing the models, filmed with three stuntmen actually aflame. He realised it was so detailed that it was just horrifying rather than funny. He also noted the explosion was bigger than planned and blew the windows out of the building opposite.
