Trivia: When Ryan is in the hospital looking for the records room, two PA announcements are overheard. The first one is for Dr. Kimball. Dr. Kimball is a fictional character in the hit TV series The Fugitive who was charged with the murder of his wife and became a fugitive while trying to prove himself innocent. The second announcement is for Dr. Kevorkian to Mr. Simpson's room. In Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult, Nordberg, who was portrayed by O.J. Simpson, suggest that Leslie Nielsen be given Dr. Kevorkian's home phone number.

Other mistake: Mr. Nielsen is hard of hearing and typically wears hearing aids during rehearsals, removing them for the actual takes. In the scene where he is eating spaghetti in the hotel room and watching the news on TV, he suddenly glances behind him at the initials written on the wall. When he turns his head, you can see the hearing aid in one ear; apparently he forgot to take it out before filming.
