Factual error: The sisters run out of fuel for the helicopter, which is then shown slamming down on the ground and essentially destroying itself. All helicopters are capable of autorotating safely to the ground in the event the engine(s) quit. Of course, that would not have been as dramatic. (01:05:15)

Suggested correction: You may have noticed the helicopter was severely damaged, it may not have any rotating capabilities left after the fuel was gone.

lionhead

I did notice it, but it did not look that any damage would prevent it from autorotation.

toroscan

Perhaps the sisters (not being experienced helicopter pilots) couldn't use the autorotation properly.

OK, while that may be a possibility, if they have a helicopter pilot's license they would have had to demonstrate autorotation as part of both the curriculum and the practical exam. But listen, it's just a movie. The way they did it makes it more dramatic.

Factual error: Melina tells Natasha that the only way to get past Dreykov's pheromone block is to sever her olfactory nerve. So Natasha smacks her head on a table to sever it, hits Dreykov, then later pops her apparently broken nose back into place. Not only was her nose visibly not broken, but the olfactory nerve is a direct extension of the brain, with projections passing through a key bone in the skull. Severing that nerve would involve brain damage, and traumatic damage to those structures capable of this would require surgical repair.

Other mistake: Black Widow and her sister steal a BMW. Getting away they damage the left rear quarter. A few cuts later they show the car again and it has no damage to the left rear quarter. (00:40:15)

Factual error: When they are getting on the plane, which supposedly takes place in 1995, Yelena can be seen holding a Twilight Sparkle My Little Pony toy. This character was not created until 2010. (00:07:02)

Factual error: When she looks at the football game in 1995, the referees are wearing black pants. Those pants were not used until the 2010s.

Continuity mistake: During the opening scene when the family is driving down the road, a newer McDonald's can be seen on the right-hand side.

Continuity mistake: The helicopter that they use to rescue "dad" gets its windows entirely shot out. That is why the helicopter is put on autopilot so that the prison tower can be blown up. Later, everyone is sitting in the back of the helicopter talking and all the windows are intact.

Suggested correction: The windows didn't get "shot out." Yes, the side did get shot, but the bullets just went through. You even see when one of bullets goes through the front window, it only leaves a hole and the widow stays intact.

Continuity mistake: The blue car gets pushed through multiple cars and is damaged. Shortly after in the same scene, the car magically appears undamaged.

Other mistake: During the opening scene when the family is driving down the road, various gas stations can be seen with prices typical for the era in the low single dollars. But during one brief shot through the rear glass, a modern price of nearly $2.50 is seen.

Continuity mistake: When the ordered helicopters get close, there is a set of iron stairs in one shot blocking the door. A split-second later, when the door closes the stairs are gone.

Trivia: Inside Melina's weapons vault, you can spot a mask. This is a reference to her comic book counterpart, who goes by the codename Iron Maiden.

Question: Spoilers! The woman who Yelena kills at the start isn't seen hugely, but bears a passing resemblance to Olga Kurylenko, who's in the opening credits but isn't actually seen until nearly the end of the film. Does anyone know if this was a deliberate choice to misdirect more casting-savvy viewers as to the part she actually plays, or am I misremembering, and the woman at the start doesn't look much like her at all?

Chosen answer: Are you talking about the woman who has the mind control antidote that ends up freeing Yelena from the Red Room's control? She's a rogue ex-Widow named Oksana played by martial artist and stunt coordinator Michelle Lee.

Bishop73

That's her. It's only a semi-resemblance, but was close enough that I basically assumed if that was Olga Kurylenko she'd had her role cut down, or was a cameo, or might appear in flashbacks. Either way I didn't spend the film thinking "when's Olga Kurylenko showing up?", and anyone asking that of themselves presumably might figure out who was playing Taskmaster before the big reveal. I might just be overthinking it of course. :-).
