Audio problem: Regardless of what he has on his feet, every time Gekko walks there is the sound of shoes on the floor, even when it's clear that he has socks/sneakers on.
Wall Street (1987)
1 audio problem
Directed by: Oliver Stone
Starring: Michael Douglas, Charlie Sheen, Martin Sheen, Franklin Cover, Chuck Pfeiffer, Tamara Tunie
Continuity mistake: When Gekko is talking to the board of Blue Star Airlines in Bud's apartment, Michael Douglas is wearing a suit, but white sneakers can be seen on his feet. In the next shot, he is wearing dress shoes.
Gordon Gekko: This is the kid, calls me 59 days in a row, wants to be a player. There ought to be a picture of you in the dictionary under persistence, kid.
Trivia: In the original script of this movie, Bud does not receive oral sex from the prostitute. He actually just has regular sex, but Oliver Stone changed it during production for unknown reasons.

Answer: It's probably just a movie inaccuracy. For whatever reason, probably technical, economical, or for artistic considerations, the scene could have been staged and shot during sunset rather than sunrise. Oftentimes, scenes are not actually filmed when and where they are supposedly set. Locations are often substituted for ones that are more private, more scenic, have easier physical access, are in a less expensive economic region (such as Canada), and so on.
