Continuity mistake: Vers KOs the Skrull she does the warcry thing at, and then another one on the corridor steps. She is then seen fighting from the perspective of the corridor to her right, but there are no Skrulls in sight against that door, while at least one was already lying down there. There are two when the camera gets back closer, and when she neutralizes the last one who bounces onto his own stun mace, there are again two, and she somehow got between the last one and the others. Continuity mistake: When Carol is showing Fury the upgraded communicator, in the close-up Fury is already drying his hand with the towel he grabs only later. (01:48:40)
Continuity mistake: In the dream sequence at the beginning of the movie, Vers is looking at the bloodstained palm of her hand. It turns into the back of her hand immediately after - which could be fine especially in a dream/flashback scene, but the hand is also differently marked with the blue goo - in the POV shot her middle finger had barely a little spot on the pad, while in the following shot it has blood all over. (00:01:05)
Continuity mistake: When Vers lands in the Blockbuster, the establishing shot of the street shows the cardboard cutout of True Lies facing the outside from the window (Jamie Lee Curtis on the left of Schwarzenegger). When Vers blasts it, it is facing her, so faces the inside of the store. (00:23:10)
Trivia: Stan Lee's cameo actually references another cameo he made as himself, in 1995's Mallrats - he's reading the script for that on the train. This marks the first time he's explicitly himself in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film (he identified himself as Stan Lee in Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer), not just a random character. In fact Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 confirms he's actually playing the same character in every cameo, a Watcher Informant, roaming the multiverse and reporting back his discoveries. And given he's reading the Mallrats script here, that means Stan Lee himself was actually an alien being all along, observing humanity and others. And of course that means the real Stan Lee exists in the MCU, so created comics based on characters who really exist, albeit maybe in another universe...but you could go on like that forever.
Continuity mistake: After Danvers heats the kettle with her hand she sits and speaks with Rambeau, the window shades change in the last shot. Most noticeable is the pulls change positions. (01:00:30)
Continuity mistake: During the fight between Fury and Director Keller in the archive, an object (a suitcase or a folder?) suddenly appears mid-fight, either in upright or horizontal position. (00:52:00)
Trivia: During Carol Danvers' outfit color change, one of her outfits turns white and green. This is an homage to Mar-Vell's original uniform color scheme. There is also a red and yellow combination seen, which could be a reference to the DC character Shazam, who has also been known by the name Captain Marvel.
Answer: Howard Stark relinquished custody of it to her. For a full history of the Tesseract see here: https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Tesseract.
