Continuity mistake: In the first movie, when Dylan and Alma first meet up with Thaddeus Bradley for lunch, he mentions that Lionel Shrike was a magician in the 1970s and one year later, attempted the safe in the river trick that killed him, but in the opening scene of this movie, it is shown that the safe in the river trick that killed Lionel Shrike took place in 1984. Audio problem: When younger Dylan is talking with his father before he performs the stunt, Dylan tells Shrike he doesn't want him to go and Shrike says to him "Dylan, come on. We talked about this." As Shrike says "Dylan, come on", the shot is behind him, but his jaw doesn't move with the speech. (00:01:15)
Continuity mistake: When Daniel is communicating with "The Eye", he walks over to a well and places his phone down around the rim of it. The phone is beside the edge of one of the blocks covering the rim, to its left. When Walter is explaining to Daniel later on in the movie that he was the voice, the scene cuts to a flashback, and Daniel is now shown placing the phone beside the right hand side of the edge of the block. Continuity mistake: When Walter is explaining to Daniel he was the voice he heard earlier in the movie, he mentions that he put his phone on a by-wave syphon pad, the scene flashes back to when Daniel was communicating with the voice and it is discovered there was a device planted inside the well, shown behind a grid. Continuity mistake: In Dylan's first scene, he walks into a meeting room at the FBI and requests a minute with the director. During this, Dylan has a mug in his left hand and a file in his right hand. There is a long shot in this scene, with the shot several meters from Dylan, where the file is suddenly in his left hand. Then in the next shot of Dylan after that, the file is suddenly back. (00:07:20)
Continuity mistake: When Dylan is showing the FBI director and Cowan the photo of who may be Merritt McKinney, he is standing next to the director turned to the right, but in the next shot, the two are suddenly directly facing each other. (00:08:15)
Continuity mistake: When Dylan is showing the FBI director and Cowan the photos of the Horsemen, just as the FBI director asks what it all means, she is looking at Dylan, but in the next shot, she is suddenly looking at the photos. (00:08:50)
Character mistake: Dylan is showing Agent Cowan and the FBI director the pictures of the pigeons and Dylan and Cowan start arguing, while the FBI director continues to look at the evidence on the Four Horsemen. Whilst looking there is an article reading "FBI Investigation Stalls." On the first column of the article, it is mentioned that all four members of the Four Horsemen, J. Daniel Atlas, Henley Reeves, Merritt McKinney and Jack Wilder, all disappeared into thin air at the final magic show, and gave the audience fake dollar bills. By the time of the final magic show, Jack had faked his death and was presumed dead, so only three members of the Horsemen were present, not four. (00:08:55)

Continuity mistake: When Daniel realises Lula isn't inside the couch, he looks over to the table to see Lula sitting there. There is a paper takeaway bag on the table that has a fold along the side of the bag, and the fold appears to end near the top. The shot cuts to Daniel, but when the shot cuts back to Lula, the fold in the bag appears to end much further down the side of the bag. (00:11:15)
Continuity mistake: When Lula ties herself out of the ropes that Daniel tied around her wrists, she removes the ropes around her left wrist first and then removes the ropes from her right wrist. She lowers her left hand so that it is next to her right hand (and so that she can pull the remaining rope off her hand), but when the shot cuts to Daniel, her left hand is much further away from her right hand. Continuity mistake: When Dylan and the Horsemen are infiltrating the OCTA party, Daniel is carrying a tray with four different lines of sushi. Daniel then walks into the hallway still holding the tray and the four lines of sushi and their position on the tray have suddenly been reversed. (00:16:55)
Continuity mistake: When Atlas walks in to the Octa phone launch disguised as a waiter he has a silver tray. Someone rearranges something on it as he walks down the corridor and it is plainly a silver tray. He walks through after the rearrangement and the next shot there is a briefcase visible under the tray. The tray is supposed to be a tray that becomes a briefcase but is too thin to do that. When first seen there is no space for the briefcase part to be closed up against the tray. (00:16:55)
Continuity mistake: When Daniel is trying to take the OCTA CCTV guard's ID pass, he takes a picture of him with a Polaroid camera so that he can stick it onto a tag to prove that he is from a mental hospital. When the picture prints out from the camera, all that is shown is shown is the image of the guard against a white background, instead of the wall seen behind him. Also, when Daniel takes the picture, the guard has his head turned to the right to face Daniel, but when the picture prints, the guard has his head positioned completely forwards. (00:17:40)
Continuity mistake: When the security guard at the OCTA launch finds the Evans Mental Facility wristband on the CCTV guard's wrist, the wristband and wrist are pointed away from the CCTV guard's face, but in the next shot, the wristband and wrist is directly facing the CCTV guard. (00:18:10)
Answer: The entire sequence in London was all a montage. It is never really established if all of the scenes that took place there were coinciding with each other. The scene where Jack hypnotises Chase could have easily taken place after he had finished the street show.
