Visible crew/equipment: The fake spider that suddenly swings down in front of Allison in the hallway, and the one "thrown" at her as she walks through the mall at the end, are obviously prop pranks, as you can hear a fake laughing in the background during the latter. Very badly covered up by barking dogs and something whining.
Chopping Mall (1986)
1 visible crew/equipment mistake
Directed by: Jim Wynorski
Starring: Kelli Maroney, Karrie Emerson, Russell Todd, Tony O'Dell
Factual error: When the first robot is trapped in the lift, the teenagers shoot the propane tanks on top of the lift in order to get them to catch fire and explode, killing the robot. However the teens are firing pistols or shotguns, and these do not contain incendiary ammunition, which is what is required to make the propane to catch fire.
Walter: You clumsy son of a bitch! Look what you did! I out to turn you into scrap metal for this!
Protector robot: May I see your identification badge please?
Walter: Identification badge?
Protector robot: Do not make any sudden moves.
Walter: Sudden moves? I'll give you sudden moves upside your head!
Trivia: Towards the end of the film, Allison hides from the last remaining Protector Robot by hiding in a pet shop. The name of the shop is "Roger's Little Shop of Pets," which is a reference to "The Little Shop of Horrors," a film directed by Roger Corman, husband of Julie Corman who produced this film.
