Continuity mistake: This show has been widely declared as canonical with the games, by the makers of both this show and the games. The game Fallout 4 establishes the date and time that the bombs drop: Saturday, October 23, 2077, 9:47 AM East Coast Time. Which means it was 6:47 AM West Coast Time. That's a pretty weird time of day to schedule a kids' party with lots of guests and a hired celebrity cowboy.
Suggested correction: They changed a lot of subtle things from canon for the show. Also, all games have got some inconsistencies between them as well. In the show, on the TV, there is a clock that says it's around 9:30 AM the first time we see it and 10:45 when they cut the cake, so it's close to the afternoon and not very early in the morning. The position of the sun confirms this.
So, if it's 10:45 West Coast time, that makes it 1:45 PM East Coast time. Would you carry on a birthday party if the other side of the country got nuked four hours ago?
The show is not taking place on the East Coast; it's on the West Coast in California. The show made it so it was 10:45 AM on the West Coast when the attack began. The attack happened all over the US simultaneously. This is not a mistake but done intentionally. You can call it a deliberate mistake. Definitely nothing wrong in the continuity of the show.

Continuity mistake: When Emma gets a pen out of her bag so that Dexter can write his number, the pen is upright. When the shot cuts, it is upside down, then it is upright again in the shot after that. (00:35:04)

Continuity mistake: At the deli, Jane orders plain bagels with cream cheese. When she gets home, she has everything bagels with lox.
Continuity mistake: When Wolverine is telling Morph that Scott and Jean will be leaving the team after their baby is born, the toothpick in his mouth swaps sides.
No Regrets - S1-E5
Continuity mistake: After Beelzebub tells the board that she has a new idea, she walks away after being told she can sit at table nine. In this shot, she has only one flower in her hair instead of three flowers like it should be. In the next shot, she has three flowers in her hair again. (00:08:54)
Episode #1.4 - S1-E4
Continuity mistake: DC Li is wearing a white crewneck sweater with a blue band on the neckline until this episode, when she is suddenly wearing a blue button-up shirt. All episodes take place on a single flight.
Continuity mistake: The episode starts out in a flashback of three college kids hanging about a pool. One of them is a nerdy guy who passes off a key fob to the other dude who leaves. A murder happens, and then the scene morphs to the current Judge Crawford, but there is one major flaw. Crawford is about 60ish, and the key fob is from the '90s era. So, the timeline is off.
Family Tree - S1-E3
Continuity mistake: When John goes to Per's home to convince him to return to work, John's shirt, which is initially hidden under his sweater, becomes visible as they walk.
Continuity mistake: S1: E6 Loco - FBI Agent Quiñones places the whiskey bottle down on the table with the back label showing, but in the next shot, the front label on the bottle is showing (Wild Turkey 101). (00:29:38 - 00:29:59)
Episode #1.5 - S1-E5
Continuity mistake: Toward the end of the episode, Pearce is cornered on the roof as he stands near the waiting helicopter. He puts his rifle down at his feet but never moves. When he lies flat as ordered, his rifle is now well behind him as he is now much further from the ledge.
Continuity mistake: Cross races home when his daughter is threatened by Ramsey. He drives his car into the empty drive at high speed. His friend John is already there. When they leave, they get into John's car, which is parked behind Cross' in the driveway.
Continuity mistake: The wife gets into a taxi with a baby. The license plate is 0603 EQL. In the next scene, that taxi drives past the Jackal in a completely different location, and different passengers get out. (00:44:35 - 00:45:08)
Continuity mistake: Episode 1.1 - Pilot When "Matlock" enters the building of the law firm for the first time, a kind woman uses her own pass to get her through the barrier at the ground floor, saying, "I've got you." Notice how the pass is label-up in the wider shot, but face down in the close-up. (00:01:05)
Continuity mistake: As Rick is getting informed about the CRM's future plans, he is holding his knife under the table. The next shot shows his hand on the table, before showing his hand holding the knife under the table again. (00:23:50)

Continuity mistake: Captain Massey is at the bar and orders his usual drink. A woman, Heather, comes over and starts talking to him. In one of the shots over his shoulder, Massey has his hand resting on his mouth. In the reverse angle, his hands are down.
