Continuity mistake: The three friends are at the hospital. As Raissa and Katia predicted, Dr. Victor is hitting on Paula. As they follow him, the stethoscope around Raissa's neck dangles differently from her neck between cuts, with the cup on top of her hair or under it, closer to the shoulder. (00:05:35)
Continuity mistake: Towards the beginning of the flashback, Jahkor gets thrown to the ground. The legs of the bully in the close-up cast a shadow over Jahkor's body. Cut to the next shot, and the shadow is away from Jahkor in a blatant change of direction of the light of the scene. (00:09:35)
Continuity mistake: In the first shot of the choir (three students harmonizing on a note) the girl in pink holds the sheet with her left hand at the corner and the right hand in the middle. Cut to the wide shot, and she has the left hand in the middle and the right hand at its respective corner. (00:03:50)
Revealing mistake: The nefarious villain has just revealed to Prince Charming that he has kidnapped the princess, and shows her to the crowd as a big burly smurfy monster is holding her. The crowd in unison gasps and looks horrified...except an extra who just can't keep a straight face. (00:07:35)
Continuity mistake: First argument. Leilani shouts "Why are you being so loud right now?", with a hand behind her neck. She does not start the next shot in that position, she puts her hand there only a second later. (00:04:05)
Continuity mistake: Kareem's mom is talking to her coworker about the fact that her son asked for James to pick him up at school. When she mentions that it's not seen as the coolest thing to date a cop, and a white one at that, her friend goes from hand low, to smoking with that hand, to drinking from the cup, in the span of a few words and a couple quick cuts. Continuity mistake: During the introductory meeting with Nicole Kleiber, her glasses on the desk switch back and forth between open and folded. (00:26:20)
Factual error: Real-life Martina Franca is a town in Puglia, at the "heel of the Italian boot." The town shown in the film is the famous San Gimignano in Tuscany. And when Holly "defects" in order to go to the Hill of Tara, her departure point, as seen on Foaly's observation monitor, is the real-life location of San Gimignano. (00:35:50)
Continuity mistake: Take notice of the desk lamp as Charlie and Al are talking in Charlie's new office. As the camera switches back and forth between their face to face conversation, the green glass cover of the light keeps changing position too. This happens even after Al leaves. This was probably done to keep the light out of the camera during filming. (00:13:50)
Continuity mistake: Theo lays Susanna's phone down - when it cuts back to her phone is lying in the opposite direction.
Continuity mistake: The first time we see the girl the main character fawns on, people on the background keep changing between shots during the beach volley game. (00:08:20)
Revealing mistake: When Maya Rudolph and Tim Meadows are in their car at the drive-in theatre, whilst Maya Rudolph says "We got Hubie Dubois spying on everybody", there is a close-up shot of the wing mirror with Hubie's car reflected in it, along with several other cars and a building in the background also reflected. Despite being a reflection, any text or numbers reflected in the mirror are not reversed. The number plate on Hubie's car is spelled out forwards, and the sign "Salem Drive In" on the building in the background is spelled forwards also, and not reversed as they normally would be in a reflection. Audio problem: When we are first introduced to Hayden lecturing the classroom, the shots from behind do not match the sound with the movement of his jaw.
Continuity mistake: After the scavenger hunt goes live, Jennifer follows it with her grandmother Sue and Aidan does so with his niece Emma. Aidan looks at the photos of participants and sees one of Jennifer and Sue at the art class, and right below is one of him holding Emma with the carollers in the background. Immediately after that, he picks up Emma in front of the carollers and takes the photo he had already been looking at.
Continuity mistake: Brahms was quite clean for having been buried under dirt and leaves. No dirt fell off Brahms' body when Jude pulled him out of his "grave" and there did not appear to be dirt in his hair. When Sean (Jude's father) held up Brahms, the doll looked relatively clean - or cleaner compared to when Liza (Jude's mother) started to wash him. (00:14:10 - 00:15:45)
Other mistake: Rayburn pulled an arrow out of his chest - and without much blood gushing out. The rather small amount of blood on the towel and Rayburn's ability to go about business as though he had not been injured is unrealistic and absurd. (00:27:00)
Factual error: It would not be possible for Kyle to see the woman breast-feeding - and certainly not as shown. Kyle was driving an SUV in the left lane and Swin was the front-seat passenger. When a car was approaching the SUV from the right-hand lane and the rear passenger area was approximately side-by-side at the SUV's passenger window (which is DARK-TINTED!), Swin looked toward the car, but his face was right in front of the frame around the windows - he would, at most, see the woman's left shoulder... and the baby was feeding "on the right." I doubt Kyle would have been able to see any part of the woman when he turned his head to look. At most (and this is unlikely given the height of the SUV), he might have gotten a partial glimpse of the woman's left shoulder and only after the car she was riding in was in front of the SUV's windshield (but still in the right-hand lane). Factual error: The film consistently mistakes Absinthe ban with Thujone ban. The United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) lifted the ban on Absinthe in 2007, 13 years before the events of this film. Thujone is still banned, and Absinthe products must contain less than 10 mg/kg Thujone content.
Continuity mistake: When Grandpa shows his old phone to Sally the way he holds it differs between the front and back shots.
Factual error: After Maya Peters is brought into the recompression chamber because of an injury, the timer is shown counting down by hundredths of a second and skips from 1 to 0 without showing 0.99-0.01. (01:24:30)
