Continuity mistake: On Utapau, when Obi-Wan faces off with Grievous, Grievous sends 4 MagnaGuards against Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan Force-pulls something from the ceiling to crush the droids. But in the ensuing fight between Obi-Wan and Grievous, the ceiling thing and crushed droids are gone.
Continuity mistake: On the ferry, Rachel wears the purple/pink camouflage hoodie over her orange knit sweater with the colorful stripe sleeves, as usual. Now this is where things become strange. In the first shot as the trio come ashore, she is only wearing her orange sweater, she is not wearing the purple/pink hoodie - note the clear lack of fur hood. In the very next shot as they climb a bit more and then rest, Rachel is wearing the purple/pink hoodie - note the hood, but now it's on under her orange sweater. In the underwater shots she is also wearing it under the orange sweater. (This odd mistake has absolutely nothing to do with the very long wool cloak that Rachel wears in the next scene). Continuity mistake: When John is driving to work and he hears Anna on the radio, he swerves to avoid a car. From inside the car you can see that there are no cars in the rear window, yet when the shot changes to an outside shot, there are 3 cars. (00:33:35)
Continuity mistake: When Lincoln and Jordan are running to the Zone 6 door during their escape Lincoln throws a person into Jordan knocking her down. However in the next scene she is miraculously right behind Lincoln again.
Continuity mistake: As V attacks all of Creedy's men with his knives, in one shot he cuts one man's neck, and blood sprays onto the man's face, but in the next shot as the man falls, his face is clean.
Continuity mistake: Sithandra grabs a branch as she runs through the garden, which changes in appearance between shots.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Chicken Little lends the alien baby, Kirby, his handkerchief, after Kirby blows his nose, it sticks to Chicken Little's hand. Chicken Little then wipes the hanky off his hand on to the grass. In the very next shot, the hanky has disappeared, and never shows up again.
Continuity mistake: Following Rodney's step from the escalator on the red pedestal he is being scooped into one half of a wire-frame globe/ball. Two halves now (the other one has Fender in it) form an intact globe. A safety bar with a 'wooden' middle bit (like those on rollercoasters) suddenly appears. After their journey, when the ball splits back into two halves, the safety bar, which previously had mysteriously appeared, now has disappeared.
Continuity mistake: When the cast are at the Miranda colony and discover that everyone is dead, there is a rotating shot of River as she realises what happened. Prior to this there is a brief closeup shot of the rest of the cast as they turn to face her. Jayne turns to his right, but in the following rotating shot of River he has turned from his left. Continuity mistake: When Arthur breaks the arm of the chair as his brain is being taken, the arm is strapped to his wrist. A second later the strap and broken arm are gone.
Continuity mistake: After Danny gets mad at Walter for catching the ball that his Dad threw for him, he throws his glove down on the floor and runs inside. In the next shot the glove is in a different location.
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Boy offers Layla a drink at the dance, the amount in the cup changes. Also, after Lash spills the drink on Mr. Boy, half the drink is still in the cup, but in the next shot the cups empty. (01:11:35)
Continuity mistake: In the beginning they are on the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). Later they are aboard the the U.S.S. Carl Vinson (CVN-70) and end up on the U.S.S. Nimitz (CVN-68), yet the personnel are the same aboard all three ships.
Continuity mistake: When Tyler is resuscitating Katherine he cuts and then rips her swim suit down to her belly button, but in the next shot when she is climbing up the cliff the cut is only up to her breast bone and has a zip on it.
Continuity mistake: There is blood on Samantha's gloved hand when she presses the keypad, but there is no blood on the keypad after she removes her hand.
Continuity mistake: When Johnny is walking out of the dirt bike stadium, he has his arms around two women's shoulders. The shot changes, now the two women are holding on to his arms. The shot changes again, and now his arms are free. It happens too fast for him to just let go of the women. (01:00:35)
Continuity mistake: The name on Travis' helmet switches between 'Ryer' to 'Travis' several times throughout the movie.
Continuity mistake: When the bikers ride through the zombie infested town for the first time watch when Big Daddy is shot at. The windows behind him are shattered by the bullets but a few seconds later are fully intact. This may be hard to see as it is dark but they are back, easiest way to tell is by the reflection from across the street. (00:08:50)
Continuity mistake: When Maddie and the others are trapped in the silo, there are a lot of locusts that have landed on the structure, but there is also a huge number of locusts flying through the air all around. After they electrocute the locusts, there's not a single live locust to be seen anywhere, even though all the insects that were not directly on top of the metal building should have survived.
Continuity mistake: When Rudy reach out his hand and introduces himself to Jack, we see Jack holding his hands down. When it cuts he has his left hand by his mouth. (00:17:35)
Suggested correction: The mistakes are based upon the viewer misinterpreting assignment patches that the crew wear on their jackets. The patches reveal the ships named as "mistakes" but are actually where a crew member previously served. The ship's intercom is the only reliable source that the ship is the USS Abraham Lincoln.
The hull number on the flight deck absolutely changes from the Lincoln to the Carl Vinson during parts of the movie.
