Continuity mistake: When Hiram, Juan and Kelly first see Old Fred's wagon in the distance, the white tarp on it is draped across it and down one side. When they arrive at it, it's draped differently. Continuity mistake: During the election meeting held at the saloon, there's a large sign that reads "Capitol City Here We Come" on the wall by the stairs. We see this sign in numerous shots. When Valance enters the saloon there's still a sign on that wall by the stairs, but now the painted handwriting on this sign is different. Moreover, the original sign that had been by the stairs is now up on the side wall of the saloon, where Valance and his thugs stand; note the handwriting. (01:09:20 - 01:13:45)
Continuity mistake: At the beginning, Belle dismounts from the horse and gets in front of Mammy Lou. Her hands are lowered in the wide angle but raised in the closer view. (00:04:00)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the wagon train is waiting for Wagonmaster Harlow to decide which fork in the road to take, all the shadows are to the left. As they approach Harlow, the shadows are in front and moment later when the wagons move off the shadows are to the right. (00:26:20)
Continuity mistake: When Rango is stranded in the middle of the road, he is clutching a drinking glass in his left hand. For the rest of the scene (starting from when he molts), the glass switches to his right hand.
Revealing mistake: During the shooting in Candieland, right before Django bursts a man's head, a man next to Django who he uses as a shield has his chest burst. The blood pack is very noticeable.
Continuity mistake: Otter Bob holds out a bottle of liquor at Isaiah after he kills a bear. In the close-up, Bob is holding the bottle by the neck. In the wide shot, he's holding it by the body.
Continuity mistake: Juliano and Joaquin are having their pictures taking celebrating the first earnings from their own gold pit. All of a sudden between shots, the photographer loses the cigarette behind his ear. (00:18:50)
Continuity mistake: David Hackett is talking business organizing ranch business while his brother Ed is leaning on the counter, gawking at the beautiful Clee and passing her cloth. He has his right arm up in the close-ups, but the left arm up in the wider shots. (00:04:55)
Continuity mistake: The group come across an outpost only to find the person inside having been brutally killed and skinned by Indians. A shot from the door shows Will sitting on his horse hunched over, staring into the cabin in shock. When the camera cuts to a close-up of him, his body is now at a different angle, his arms are in a slightly different position, and the light is hitting his coat and hat from a different angle.
