Jigsaw (2017)

Corrected entry: During the opening trap, at one point Mitch whips his chain up, catching it on one of the buzz-saws. This results in a massive spark and Mitch being yanked forward violently, making him tumble to the floor. Looks cool, but it makes no sense. Nothing about the chain striking the buzz-saw blade and causing a spark should have yanked him forward or made him fall. We know the chain didn't get caught or pulled by the saw, because it looks perfectly normal in the next few shots.

Correction: The purpose of the trap is to draw blood. Since Jigsaw was watching this whole thing go down, he may have deemed striking the saw with the chain as cheating and punished Mitch by remotely triggering him to be yanked forward as a warning to not try it again.

How the West Was Won - S6-E10

Corrected entry: When Black Bart repeats his line about how sheriff Frank is a washed up, yellow bellied, gin guzzling pile of buffalo chips his French accent is gone and the actor's real American accent is heard.

Correction: This was done deliberately for laughs. The other characters are unable to understand what he says with the heavy French accent, so he switches to the American accent so they can understand.

Bean (1997)

Corrected entry: We hear the M&M swirling around in the glass beaker long after it stops.

Correction: Although Mr. Bean has stopped swirling the M&M, you can see that he isn't holding the beaker still, and you can also see the M&M shift, hence the sound.

Corrected entry: At the start of the film we jump forward 8 years to present day but the attack in the first Avengers film was only 4 years prior to Captain America Civil War, where Spider Man first appeared at the airport. Spiderman Homecoming is set a few months after that.

Correction: No specific dates are given regarding the first Avengers film, but using scenes and dialogue from other films, we can deduce that it took place earlier than 2012. "Iron Man" was filmed in 2007 and released in 2008, so we can assume it takes place in one of those years. "Iron Man 2" is said to take place 6 months after the end of the first film, with "Thor" and "The Incredible Hulk" taking place around the same time. In "The Avengers" Nick Fury makes reference to Thor and Loki having come to Earth a year prior, which means that "The Avengers" takes place most likely in the summer of 2009 or 2010. So if this film takes place in 2017 or 2018, then the eight-year jump fits within the timeline. It is admittedly confusing, but it checks out.

Phaneron

So I watched all the MCU movies leading up to "Avengers: Infinity War" and there are references to the first "Avengers" film taking place in 2012, notably in "Iron Man 3" with Killian stating that Tony Stark spurned him 13 years earlier on New Years Eve in 1999. Apparently one of the Russo brothers have also stated that the "8 years later" thing is incorrect.

Batman Begins (2005)

Corrected entry: Bruce knows that Rachel was going to Arkham before his party, but he could not know that she was in the basement with Crane.

oswal13

Correction: He could know if he wiretapped the building. He was shown earlier in the movie to have wiretapped a conversation between Crane and Falcone.

Troll 2 (1990)

Corrected entry: When Arnold is watching the girl being eaten by the goblins, there is nothing on his forehead when he is saying that they are eating her and then they are going to eat him. When he says "Oh my God", a fly has suddenly appeared on his forehead.

Harris

Correction: Flies move fast and the camera was off him for plenty of time (almost 3 seconds) for the fly to have landed on his forehead.

Chicanery - S3-E5

Corrected entry: When Chuck is testifying in response to Jimmy's question about Chuck's supposed EHS (electromagnetic hypersensitivity) Chuck states he is only affected when current is flowing. But Chuck reacts to a cell phone battery Jimmy had planted in Chuck's pocket. A disconnected battery would not have any current flowing.

rossboulet

Correction: The whole point of this sequence is to show that Chuck's EHS is all in his head. It doesn't matter that there is no current going through the battery, because Jimmy knows Chuck will react to it regardless once he sees it.

Phaneron

A valid point. It just struck me as funny that Chuck, a meticulous attorney, should have some basic understanding of the electricity to which he claims to be so sensitive.

rossboulet

Chuck is indeed meticulous, but his "symptom" is basically his Kryptonite, whereas he doesn't think with a clear head when he's exposed or thinks he's exposed to an electromagnetic current. Don't forget that he suffered a mental breakdown later in the season because of it.

Sons of Anarchy (2008)

Andare Pescare - S5-E9

Corrected entry: When Gemma hands Nero Carla's ashes, the box appears to be empty. Nero proves this by flicking the box and acting like, is there anything in it? When a person is cremated, the ashes weigh at least 5 pounds. They carry it like there's nothing in it.

Correction: 5lbs isn't that heavy if you're strong. I work in shipping and boxes weighing 5lbs practically feel like nothing, because I'm used to handling much heavier things. Nero's a strong guy and may have expected the box to weigh more than it did.

Phaneron

Correction: My point is the box appears to have nothing in it! I have my fathers ashes and they aren't light so I know what I'm talking about. The box obviously is empty.

Sorry, but you've only demonstrated that a box of human ashes in your own hands doesn't feel light. What feels heavy to you isn't necessarily true for others. You said yourself that a box of human ashes weighs around 5 lbs. Most adults of either gender would find that to be lightweight. I can lift a 5 lb. Box with my thumb, index and middle fingers, provided that the box is relatively small in its dimensions, and I'm an ectomorph. If you were trying to prove in a court of law that the box was empty and all you had to go on was the video clip and your own anecdotal evidence, you would not meet the burden of proof.

Phaneron

Correction: My point is human ashes aren't light and you can plainly tell the box is empty.

You can't see inside the box though, so you can't definitively say that it is empty. It would be one thing if the box was supposed to weigh 25 lbs or so, but 5 lbs isn't even heavy, especially to someone like Jimmy Smits who is 6'-3" and over 200 lbs.

Doctor Strange (2016)

Correction: Director Scott Derrickson has said that it is not War Machine that this scene is referring to. It specifically says the suit of armor was experimental, whereas the War Machine armor is fully operational. If anything it's referring to the Hammer Tech suits of armor that were shown in Tony Stark's Congressional hearing scene from "Iron Man 2", but even that is debatable.

Corrected entry: Charles says to Wolverine "I'm gonna say to you what you said to us then, fuck off." But that's not what he said, he actually said "Go fuck yourself."

MikeH

Correction: Wolverine telling off Xavier and Magneto happened a decade prior to this film, and Charles at that point didn't have his powers (he doesn't necessarily have an eidetic memory when he has his powers anyway), so it's not really a mistake that Charles doesn't remember the exchange as exactly as it happened.

Home Alone (1990)

Corrected entry: When Harry and Marv are watching the McCallister house during the day, Harry tells Marv to go to the back door to check things out. Hearing a noise at the door, Kevin plays the video tape with the machine gun shooting, and a stunned Marv falls backwards over the garbage cans turning them all over. Later that night they come back at 9pm to rob the house, but now the garbage cans are all standing back up again.

Hawk

Correction: "Later that night" means that Kevin had plenty of time to put the garbage cans back up.

Saw V (2008)

Corrected entry: While not directly stated, it is heavily implied that the house belonging to Detective Hoffman is actually the same "Nerve Gas" house from "Saw II" (based on its structural design and the presence of the trap-door leading down into the passageways), only refurbished and fixed-up. This implies that he has moved into the property and fixed it up in order to help cover up the incident and keep the police from discovering the true location.

Correction: This has already been submitted and corrected. The Nerve Gas House from Saw II was connected to the bathroom from the first film, and Saw 3D shows the corpses of Adam, Zepp and Xavier still in there. The police discovered the house in this film at the very end, and if it was the same house from Saw II, then the forensics sweep would have led to the corpses in the bathroom as well. They wouldn't just leave the bodies there. If anything, the house in Saw V is simply the same kind of model as the one in Saw II.

Phaneron

The house that the police find is a different house that strongly resembles the nerve gas house. The actual nerve gas house was never found by the police.

Saw V (2008)

Corrected entry: When Agent Strahm is investigating Hoffman, he pulls up a list of previous Jigsaw victims, which include Dr. Gordon, Zep, and Adam from the bathroom game. These people should not be on the list, since the bathroom was never found before this time. The police can't just write these name on a list with merely assumptions, not to mention the fact there is hardly any evidence which could be a link to being a victim of Jigsaw for these people.

Correction: You're forgetting the fact that Zep held Dr. Gordon's wife and daughter captive in their own home and had them both talk to Gordon on the phone where he told his wife he was being held captive in a room somewhere with Adam. A little investigation by the police after the wife and daughter were rescued and it wouldn't be a reach for them to conclude that Jigsaw was behind it all. Especially given that Zep was watching security cameras of the bathroom from Dr. Gordon's own home. Plus, as we find out in the final film, Dr. Gordon survived the ordeal. And although he himself became a Jigsaw apprentice afterwards, he could still give the police details about his captivity without compromising Jigsaw.

Phaneron

Agreed! Also, just to add on, there is a news featurette in the first Saw that also talked about Lawrence, Adam, Tapp, and Zep's disappearances, but that they were never found.

Blade (1998)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the movie, Dr. Curtis Webb does not have a British accent. Later towards the end of the movie, when Karen is thrown into the pit with him, he is a zombie vampire with British accent. (01:33:35)

Correction: He doesn't have a British accent when he's a zombie-vampire. His entire body is deteriorating and at this point his voice is very froggy, possibly indicating that his vocal chords are irreparably damaged. Additionally, the actor portraying this character is American, so there's not really any logical reason an American character played by an American actor would suddenly have a British accent.

The X-Files (1993)

Hollywood A.D. - S7-E19

Corrected entry: After Mulder storms from the cinema at The End, Scully finds him sitting in the messy, deserted graveyard movie set. However, since the movie was premiering, which happens months after filming is completed, it makes no sense that the set would appear as if it was finished with that same day or that week.

Purple_Girl

Correction: If the studio wanted to reuse the set for another movie, which happens all the time in real life, then they would keep the set up to save on production costs rather than deconstructing it and having to rebuild it.

The X-Files (1993)

Hollywood A.D. - S7-E19

Corrected entry: In this episode, Mulder and Scully are watching a film about them that was shot sixteen months ago. But that would have been sometime in late 1998, when Mulder and Scully were not on the X-Files. But yet they're in Skinner's office at The Beginning. If they had shot the film in consistency with the current timeline, (2000) then the film would have been shown in late 2001. But in that time, Mulder was missing and Scully had a newborn. if anything, she would have seen the movie with Doggett. Somebody didn't plan ahead... (00:04:05)

Correction: The X-Files were closed at The End of season 5, but Mulder and Scully were still working under A.D. Skinner in the first X-Files movie, which takes place in the summer of 1998. It wasn't until The Beginning of season 6 that they were reassigned to A.D. Kersh. Plus, the case they were working on in this episode wasn't officially an X-File, it was a church bombing, so there's no reason they couldn't have been working on a domestic terrorism case under Skinner. There's no error in the timeline here.

Corrected entry: When Col Landa is discussing with Aldo and the little man how probable it is for his offer to be considered plausible, he says Aldo would be right 999.999 out of a million, which is less then 10%. What he presumably meant was 999,999.999 out of a million, or 999.999 out of a thousand.

Geolouvi

Correction: When Landa says 999.999, he is actually meaning to say 999,999. In some languages, large numbers have digits separated by decimal points rather than commas. He simply goofed up or was not aware of the distinction between the languages.

Saw IV (2007)

Corrected entry: When Agent Strahm has finally realised where the final game is being played, he holds up the piece of paper of Jigsaw and Art outside the Gideon building. There is a hand at the top of the picture, which is a newspaper clipping, but he is holding a picture, not a newspaper. This is a reused shot of when he shows Agent Perez the picture earlier in the movie.

Correction: This is a quasi-flashback. It happens many times throughout all seven films of this series, specifically a previous shot or scene will be called back to in order to emphasize a plot point. In this case, Strahm is looking at the photo and comes to the realization that the same photograph was on the newspaper clipping he saw earlier, giving him the clue as to where the climax of the movie takes place.
