Blade II (2002)

Corrected entry: When Blade is fighting the masked Nyssa at his base of operations near the beginning of the film, towards the end of the fight, there are two shots that are created entirely with laughably bad CGI. The "characters" move WAY too fast, have unnatural "bendy" movements, and defy the laws of physics a few times, making them completely unbelievable. (The exceedingly low-quality of these shots is even joked about in the audio commentary). (00:22:00)

Correction: This has already been submitted and corrected. Bad CGI is not a mistake. Also, Blade and Nyssa are vampires with supernatural abilities, so the fact that they move way too fast or defy the laws of physics is irrelevant.

Interstellar (2014)

Corrected entry: The crew are sent spaceward to rendezvous with spaceship Endurance atop a very large rocket booster, very much like a gigantic Saturn 5. Once they traverse the wormhole and commence exploration, they ferry themselves from orbit to each planet's surface and back again aboard rather small single-stage vehicles. If each ferry vehicle is that capable, then why did they need the huge Saturn-type rocket just to get them to Endurance?

Correction: It could simply be to conserve fuel. They didn't have enough fuel to visit every potentially habitable planet so they would take whatever measures they could to ensure that the smaller vehicles had as much fuel as possible.

Blue Streak (1999)

Corrected entry: Since ML's partner was shot and killed during the commission of a felony, he would have been charged with felony murder and gotten a lot more than 2 years in prison.

brianjr0412

Correction: Eddie is murdered by Deacon and given that Deacon betrayed the group, Miles could have testified in court about any of Deacon's previous criminal activities that he was privy to in exchange for immunity to Eddie's murder and/or a reduced sentence.

Phaneron

Since none of that is actually stated in the movie you're just making it up.

brianjr0412

Miles was never charged with felony murder in the movie either, you are making that up too! You stated what you believed to be a mistake, and Phaneron gave, within the context of the movie universe, an explanation as to why your alleged mistake was incorrect.

We as viewers are allowed to speculate as to what happens in movies off-screen in order to fill in gaps in the narrative. Obviously Miles would have had a trial prior to his sentencing, but the trial itself would have been neither essential to the plot or interesting to watch, and since Miles is released after two years, it's fair to assume he struck some kind of deal.

Phaneron

We can speculate all we want. Doesn't make it canon.

brianjr0412

No, it doesn't make it canon. By that same token, you asserting that Miles should have received a longer sentence despite the film providing us no details as to how his trial went down doesn't make it a movie mistake either.

Identity (2003)

Corrected entry: After the actress has been killed, she is decapitated and her head is put in one of the washing machines. The ex cop for no reason just decided to go to the laundry room and look in one of the machines, where he discovers her head. There is no possible explanation for why he just decides to go to the laundry room and look through the washing machines.

swordfish

Correction: Ignoring the fact that the film's central plot takes place inside the head of a schizophrenic serial killer who is being coaxed into killing off his own personalities one by one, Ed is awakened by a sound and decides to go out and investigate it. His investigation leads him to the laundry room where he can hear her severed head being bounced around in one of the dryers.

The X-Files (1993)

Squeeze - S1-E3

Corrected entry: Tooms is sneaking into the room through a vent by unscrewing bolts. The problem is that the bolts should be attached directly to the wall and it would be impossible for Tooms to unscrew them. (00:02:00)

Chop Luftmysza

Correction: Not necessarily. The vent cover could just as likely be secured to a support plate, in which case, the screws would be inserted into holes in the plate that would leave The End of the screws exposed.

Phaneron

Corrected entry: Zola states that the Black Widow was born in 1984. She mentions in another scene that she used to work for the KGB...the KGB was dissolved in 1991...so she was already a spy at 7?

Correction: Yes she was. She tells Bruce Banner as much in "The Avengers."

Ice - S1-E8

Corrected entry: The worm is supposed to increase production of a violent hormone, making The Host incredibly violent and unable to control it. Yet the infected member of the group manages to hide it perfectly between making their first kill and being discovered by the rest.

Correction: It's explained that The Host becomes violent because of the parasitic worm attacking the hypothalamus gland of the brain. When the infected person is finally discovered, the worm is shown to be making its way back towards their brain, indicating that the worm makes its way around The Host's body, and that The Host can behave normally if the worm is not near the brain.

Inception (2010)

Corrected entry: The machines which allow individuals to dream the same lucid dream are equipped with timers which wake the dreamers after a predetermined amount time without them having to receive a physical kick. So all the drama in the hotel and in the van about how to make the kicks happen was entirely superfluous since the dream machines they were hooked up to could have simply woken them at a predetermined time without needing to blow anything up, or crash any vehicles into any rivers.

Phixius

Correction: It's stated that the passage of time in each level is compounded exponentially the further in the dream levels you go. For example, one week in the first level is equal to 6 months in the second level is equal to 10 years in the third level. Without being sure how long was needed at each level, a timer could wake them too early, ruining the mission. The kicks could simply be so that the people in the deeper levels don't have to endure long passages of time before finally waking up.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: This is a question, not a mistake. Perhaps Marge was using it or it could have been in the shop. Or maybe Homer was simply too stupid to realize another car was available to him.

Phaneron

Corrected entry: Right after Thorin and Gandalf say, "Out of the frying pan," "And into the fire, run!" It changes from day to night almost instantly. (02:22:15)

Correction: It doesn't change almost instantly. The sun is shown to be gradually setting throughout the entire scene up to and including when Azog shows up. There is even a little bit of daylight left when the company starts running from the Orcs.

Just Your Average Dick (1) - S3-E22

Corrected entry: In this episode the aliens are talking about what the average American does. One thing mentioned is divorce. One out of every 4 Americans is divorced, and Harry wants to be the one. However in an earlier episode Dick finds out he has a wife and it is said that he will divorce her. Thus they already have a divorcee...Dick. Since he was already divorced, Dick should have remembered.

luke f

Correction: Even if Dick were to mention that he was a divorcee, Harry volunteers for it before he has the chance to do so. Not only that, but moments later Dick says the family needs to focus on things that the majority of Americans do, and not the minority. Since 1 out of 4 is a minority, the idea is discarded altogether.

The Wolverine (2013)

Corrected entry: Within the premise of the Marvel Universe and the movie series, adamantium is supposed to cut through any other metal. However, in the samurai sword fights, Logan's opponents have no problem blocking his claws without being chopped to pieces.

Correction: There are at least two explanations for this: 1. The Yakuza were secretly working for Yashida who was said at one point in the film to be stockpiling adamantium, so their swords could have been made from it. 2. Some metals can still be strong enough to withstand adamantium in that instance. For example, adamantium could cut through titanium, but not very easily and certainly not in one swipe.

Breaking Bad (2008)

Down - S2-E4

Corrected entry: In the opening teaser scene they show a man in a hazmat suit bagging evidence from the later revealed plane crash. One of the bags contain the eyeball from the pink bear. However in a future episode Hank discovers it in the pool filter, after the hazmat team would have bagged it. (00:00:55)

Correction: The teddy bear had two eyes. One was recovered by the disaster cleanup crew, the other ended up in Walter's pool filter.

The Wolverine (2013)

Corrected entry: Spoiler: After removing the spider-bot from his system Wolverine's healing power goes straight back to normal, sealing all his wounds and basically bringing him back to life. But when his claws are cut off near the end, his bone claws don't grow back even a fraction during the final fight.

Jon Sandys

Correction: The rate at which Wolverine's body heals itself is relative to the type of injury he sustains. Broken bones take longer to heal than cuts, so it's possible that it could take several hours for his bones to regrow, especially during the heat of battle. This is entirely consistent with what we see in the first film after the wounds he receives from Sabretooth reappear when he transfers his healing powers to Rogue to save her life.

Boy Meets World (1993)

His Answer (1) - S6-E1

Corrected entry: In this episode Shawn claims he heard Topanga propose when actually he wasn't paying ANY attention to them in the previous episode. Instead he was carrying on about graduating. There wasn't really a way that he could have heard them.

Correction: Topanga proposed to Cory before all the other students threw their Graduation caps into the air and started celebrating. Before that, Shawn was simply standing there doing nothing. He could have easily heard them.

Phaneron

Corrected entry: During the last chase scene Miranda goes from riding to driving to riding and then back to driving before going over the edge.

Correction: This is incorrect. At one point she slides over from the window seat on the passenger side to the middle seat which certainly can look like she is in the driver's seat at first glance, but she doesn't take over the wheel until the driver is taken out.

Daredevil (2003)

Corrected entry: Whereas Matt would have gloves on when in his costume, he would have been touching it without gloves when it was his walking cane. Thus, his finger prints would have been on the cane that killed Electra's father and taken by the police, leading them to arrest Matt.

Quantom X

Correction: Not only does Daredevil have several walking sticks, but if Matt Murdock's fingerprints are not on file then they would have no way of identifying them, even if his prints were lifted.

Saw IV (2007)

Corrected entry: Most of the events of Saw IV take place during the same time as Saw III. They all involve the Jigsaw Killer. The police see the Jigsaw Killer as the source of the crimes in both movies. In Saw IV there is a completely different set of detectives working on the case as Saw III, despite being the same crimes.

ujeremy

Correction: At no point are the police even shown to be investigating the main story of Saw III because they do not know it is going on. They only know that "another doctor went missing from the hospital," which does not automatically tell them she was abducted by Jigsaw. The events of Saw IV are being investigated by the FBI due to their suspicion that Rigg might be involved and because a 911 call led them to the trap that occurred in Rigg's apartment.
