That guard looks like Blanca Flores. We never see any guard that looks like the woman in that guard station. Just wondering. (00:02:17)

Question: Why do some inmates wear orange uniforms and others wear light brown? This to show who's new there?
Answer: On the show, orange uniforms are worn by the new inmates, while the khaki is the longer-term population. Generally, there's no standardized meaning of the colors as every prison has their own color-coding system. For example, red could mark more dangerous inmates. Other colors could indicate lower-risk prisoners, ones with health issues, area designations, and so on.
Question: Don't some of the inmates, who're mentally ill, belong in a prison psych ward?
Answer: You would need to be more specific as to which inmate to get an answer as to who possibly belongs in the mental ward. In general; usually the only mentally ill prisoners who go to the mental ward are inmates who show obvious psychotic breaks like Loli and crazy eyes as, with the conditions of prison, it's often difficult to tell who is mentally ill and whose frustrated from the conditions. Many of them are also only there temporarily. Crazy Eyes, first example, was in the mental ward. Her mother fought and won to get her out.
Answer: It's called a Bantu knot and it is similar to other historical Afro-texture - also known as kinky - hairstyles. Within the context of the show, the reason for the hairstyle is she probably just likes the look. Within the context of producing the show, they might have felt the hairstyle helped accentuate her deranged facial expressions.
