Other mistake: When Magnum and TC get to Makua's house, there are several meters in the open between the shack and the sugarcane field. Makua the Kahuna makes it to the door surprising them, but after that, there's just no way two able-bodied guys wouldn't catch up on the short-legged chubby old man before he gets into the thick vegetation and thanks to the fire (none of it showing before) loses them. The scene would have been believable if the Kahuna delayed them in the shack through some trick, or the shack were in the middle of the cane field, but not with Magnum and TC bolting after him right away. Continuity mistake: In the scene inside the studio of a hypocondriac Rick, Magnum points out that the land is still undeveloped. In the following close-up, Rick casts a shadow on the couch he wasn't before. (00:26:45)

Far off in the distance, away from the building, there are two guys, one with a yellow tee, the other in olive grin. Continuity mistake: Higgins corrects Rick about the 279 contestants figure. Behind Rick, a guy with a pinstripe azure shirt shows up, but he was behind the interviewer a few seconds earlier. And in the close-up of Larry Manetti, another person with a dark jacket is in his place. (00:05:35)

Other mistake: Christine Richards approaches Higgins and Rick; during the sequence, two women wearing a green Hawaiian dress behave quite strangely. The first one stares with a smile into the camera - the actual 4th wall camera, not the one held by Richards' cameraman, the second one pops in both shots and reverses with the guy she is with, in a continuity mistake. Continuity mistake: The journalist is at the King Kamehameha club and asks who is the official spokesperson. Her cameraman holds the camera with his hand in a different point between shots. (00:05:15)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the episode, Higgins mentions the complaint box; he does it with the two notebooks in front of him being at distance in the wide shot, close together in the next. (00:02:40)
Other mistake: In a cute scene, the lads are helping Higgins pamper Magnum for his nefarious needs. So one of them drops a dry towel for Magnum on the stone platform he uses to come out of the tidal pool. It's a nice scene, but the stone block is isolated in water thigh-deep for 6'3" tall Tom Selleck, and one the doberman has trouble getting off from - you can see him look at the trainer off camera and then do a very awkward dive at the end. So there's no way that dog could have brought Magnum a towel, at least a DRY towel. (00:17:30)
Audio problem: When Zeus (or Apollo) drops the towel, Magnum looks at him and says "Hi guy!" in dub, but Tom Selleck's mouth is simply open as he is breathing in some air. (00:17:25)
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, Magnum manages to show up for the bridge game. He opens the gate and closes it behind himself; he makes the appropriate motion and there's even a wooden clunking noise. Still, in the shot that follows, the gate is wide open. (00:47:35)
Continuity mistake: Magnum does not realise he's been tailed, and goes to pick up Kiki as promised. He picks her up at a bus stop...but the bus stop sign is gone at the first cut. (00:33:40)
Revealing mistake: The pursuing Marines call for backup, and a second jeep answers the call - through mirrored footage, though; the driver is on the right side. (00:43:30)
