The Waltons mistake picture

The Bicycle - S1-E23

Factual error: While Ann is on the Walton's swing telling Curtis that he deceived and lied to her, when Curtis gets back into his car, a modern vehicle is visible at the right side of the screen, which is inappropriate for the time period. (00:46:10)

The Bicycle - S1-E23

Visible crew/equipment: While Ann is riding the blue bicycle trying to catch up to Curtis, in the second closeup of Curtis driving the vehicle, the reflections of equipment and crew members who are in front of his moving car are visible on the windshield. (00:47:50)

The Townie - S1-E24

Continuity mistake: When John-Boy goes to Sarah's house to pick her up for the double-feature picture show, he tells her mother good morning and we see the shadows being cast outside The House. Later, after the double feature, when John-Boy and Sarah get back to her house in the afternoon, all of the shadows are still being cast in precisely the same direction as that morning, which is impossible. Also, in Sarah's closeup after she gets out of the truck and when John-Boy rushes after her, the white fence's shadow is completely different than the previous and following wideshots. The Townie - S1-E24

Factual error: After John-Boy and Sarah's date at the double-feature, during the ride back home when John-Boy tells Sarah that there's nothing to makeup and he's not mad, through the windshield 1970s vehicles are parked directly ahead of John's pickup truck. (00:08:25)

The Townie - S1-E24

Continuity mistake: When Sarah leaves with Ted in the LaSalle Coupe so they can get married, the mirror attached to the top of the windshield disappears and reappears in some shots during their drive. (00:36:10)

The Townie - S1-E24

Deliberate mistake: When Ted sees Ep's roadblock he turns the LaSalle Coupe around to avoid the sheriff, and the next wideshot of Ted and Sarah driving the LaSalle down the road is a flipped shot, note everything is backwards. (00:36:45)

An Easter Story - S1-E25

Continuity mistake: When Olivia asks John to go with them to Sunday services, in the wideshots Erin is sitting on the arm chair and Jim-Bob is rocking away in the rocking chair, but in the few shots facing John or Zeb we see the rocking chair and arm chair are empty. (00:04:10)

An Easter Story - S1-E25

Visible crew/equipment: While Mary Ellen walks home with G.W. after the Sunday services they're alone, and when G.W. tells her, "People learn how to dance," right at the start of the next shot we can see the blue shirt of a crew member at the lower left side of the screen. (00:08:30)

An Easter Story - S1-E25

Factual error: After Olivia realises she has polio, when John goes downstairs the radio is on and we hear an excerpt from President Roosevelt's fireside chat about upcoming Labor Day. The problem is this aired on the radio right before Labor Day in 1936, but Olivia contracts polio very early 1934. (00:22:35)

An Easter Story - S1-E25

Factual error: When John-Boy and Jason walk into the theater, there's a poster for the movie Breakthrough, released in 1950, which is about the Battle of Normandy that didn't even happen until Summer 1942. This episode was set in early 1934. (00:50:55)

An Easter Story - S1-E25

Factual error: When Mary Ellen brings G.W. into the woods to practice dancing together, she opens up a magazine and shows him a movie still of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The problem is the photo is a still from Fred and Ginger's dance in the movie "Swing Time" (at 00:28:00 within that movie) which premiered August 1936 (and was filmed that year), but this episode takes place more than two years prior, in early 1934. An Easter Story - S1-E25

Continuity mistake: The Baldwin sisters buy Olivia a wooden wheelchair, and when Zeb brings it into the bedroom the camera tilts downward and we see Zeb's legs behind the chair. Later, after Mary Ellen and G.W. dance for Olivia it cuts to a closeup of the wheelchair, but it's actually the earlier shot because we still see Zeb's legs and he's not even in the room. An Easter Story - S1-E25

Revealing mistake: When John Boy goes out of the kitchen angrily, the view of the back is different than what it actually is. From the kitchen, there appears to be the mountain and trees, but when John Boy is outside leaving the kitchen, we know the barn is what we should see from the back door/window.

An Easter Story - S1-E25

Factual error: When Olivia gets polio, she is at home. John is allowed to stay with her 24/7. It seems unlikely that the doctor, even if not taken to hospital, would allow John to stay in the room and risk contamination.

Olivia: Now I've got two sons working nights in a saloon.

The Outrage: Part 1 - S9-E1

Trivia: While everyone is at the table eating supper and talking, little John Curtis taps on John's shoulder, then John turns and asks "What?" John Curtis points to his pants and excitedly says, "I got new pants," and John says, "I see that. Who got you those? Your mommy?" Then John Curtis looks offscreen, away from the other actors on set, and replies, "No, from Pat," (no characters named Pat are on the show) and without missing a beat, John responds, "From Pat? Where does she live? On the next farm?" And John Curtis answers, "Yeah," amidst all the giggles we can hear, so John answers with a smirk, "Okay, good!" This is such a hilariously precious unscripted moment, and great they decided to leave it in the episode. (00:26:15)
