Continuity mistake: Randy spray paints his name over the bargain buys logo on the side of the truck. However, when Earl and Joy realise there is a man in the back of it, it cuts to a long shot and it still has the bargain buys logo on it. Then when Earl comes back with the gas, Randy is painting over his name with the white paint.

My Name Is Earl (2005)
1 continuity mistake in Very Bad Things (1) - chronological order
Starring: Jason Lee, Ethan Suplee, Jaime Pressly, Nadine Velazquez
Number One - S1-E24
Continuity mistake: When Randy is scratching off the joke lottery ticket, the amount of scratched-off material left on the ticket changes between the three close-ups. One shot shows that the ticket was rubbed and not scratched (the area revealed has a haze to it).
Police officer: It's police policy not to waste resources looking for a missing person in the first 24 hours because they usually show up on their own, and after 24 hours, if they're still missing, it usually means they're dead and we don't look for them that hard then either.
Teacher Earl - S1-E5
Trivia: One of the lamps stolen by Ralph is the 'special prize' leg lamp won by the father in A Christmas Story (1983).
Question: Doesn't Earl have to pay state tax or whatever on his lottery winnings, and thus would be down to only 88 grand or so?

Answer: He would definitely have to pay a Federal income tax, but state tax laws vary. My own state does not have an income tax, and instead collects revenue through sales taxes.
