Fine Feathered Finks (1) - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: When Batman starts the Bat-Turn, the parachutes are shown deploying on a 6-lane major roadway (3 lanes in each direction) in a very open area, but after completing the 180-degree turn, the car is shown driving away from the crumpled chutes on a much narrower side street among tall buildings. Other mistake: If the camera in the Penguin's cell is hidden and stationary, then the video taken from the cell should all be from the same angle, but not only does much of it move along with the Penguin as he paces, it also is much closer and at a lower angle. It only reverts back to being hidden when he notices it.

Revealing mistake: At the start, Penguin's henchmen give out booby trapped umbrellas to everyone outside the House of Ali Baba. When they all enter the jewelry store those umbrellas explode with fireworks, gas, confetti, etc, and the stunt wires holding up the umbrellas are visible, at the top of the screen. (00:01:20)

Visible crew/equipment: In Commissioner Gordon's office, when Gordon is looking over the paperwork of three new umbrella factories, frustrated that none are in the name of Penguin, as he stands up we see two white tape marks on the rug behind him. In the previous scene with Warden Crichton, four of the actors had been standing in that area. (00:11:35)

Fine Feathered Finks (1) - S1-E3

Factual error: The show is obviously full of cartoonish hyperboles; particularly amusing the notion that the "tempering furnace" in the back of Penguin's shop reaches 10'000° (I assume Fahrenheit), which would make it hotter than the surface of the Sun and able to melt any known metal on Earth. Bit of an overkill to temper umbrella ribs. (00:24:10)

Fine Feathered Finks (1) - S1-E3

Revealing mistake: In the close-ups of the basket filled with umbrellas at the bank, the asbestos blanket is continuously bumping up and shaken not by the 'explosions' of the booby trapped parasols, but rather by the thin wires you can make out at the top of the frame. (00:15:10)

Continuity mistake: The bat-phone rang, and Dick is practicing his French. Bruce in the wide shot has taken his pen off the sheet, but he is in a different position in the close-up that follows. Same when he mentions the "key to world peace"; his hand changes position. (00:03:25)

The Riddler: You and your trained, exploding shark.
The Penguin: How was I to know they'd have a can of shark-repellent Batspray handy?

Trivia: Originally, Batman villain Two-Face was going to appear in this show and was going to be portrayed by Clint Eastwood. Two-Face's backstory wouldn't have him as an attorney who had acid thrown in his face but instead have him as a news anchor who would have a stage light exploding resulting in his injuries and his transformation into a criminal.

More trivia for Batman

Answer: It's wasn't unusual for multiple actors to play one character on this show. The villains on the TV Batman were played by guest stars, not regular cast members. George Sanders, Otto Preminger, and Eli Wallach played the part at various times. They may simply have only wanted to play the part once or twice, or they were later tied up with other projects, making it necessary to cast someone else. Other characters, like Catwoman, were also played by more than one actress.
