Corrected entry: Doug and Carrie leave the kitchen to go to the garage and are arguing. When they leave, Arthur is sat at the table reading his paper. However when Doug and Carrie return, 13 seconds later, Arthur has got two pieces of toast in front of him and is buttering one piece already. Trivia: In many episodes when Doug is hurt, startled, angry etc., he will yell "Yuspa." Cathy Yuspa is one of the two writers on the show.
Question: Has Carrie's sister, Sara, ever been mentioned again after the first few episodes, and why was she taken off?
Answer: Sara hasn't been mentioned in later episodes, and it suggested in later episodes that she never existed, and that Carrie is an only child. Kevin James stated that the producers couldn't think of an good plots to use with Sara, so they left her out.

Correction: Before walking out, Doug tells Arthur his toast is ready. We see the smoke coming from the toaster. Arthur had enough time to get the toast and a knife. He's not buttering the toast, he's scrapping the burnt parts off.
