Question: In the beginning episode, Quinn's timer will allow him to slide from one dimension to the next before sending him back to his own world. Later, after escaping the frozen world, the timer sends everybody to another dimension rather then back home and continues this way for the rest of the show. What caused this malfunction?
Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? - S4-E6
Question: In the beginning credits of movies/t.v. shows, when they say "and introducing" followed by the actor's name, it is because it is the 1st acting role for that actor. In this episode when the introduced Quinn's brother, the beginning credits say "and introducing Charlie O'Connell." However he has done other acting roles before he appeared on Sliders. As a matter of fact, he did 2 episodes on Sliders as a different character before he became Quinn's brother. So is there a reason why the actor was "introduced" in this episode?
Chosen answer: Quinn's brother was going to be a recurring character, so "introduced" in this case referred to the actor becoming a semi-regular.
Post Traumatic Slide Syndrome - S2-E8
Question: At the end of the episode, do we know for sure that the right Arturo slid with the others, instead of the Arturo of the world that they were on? Or is it simply meant for us to wonder?
Answer: The show's creator admitted that it was the wrong Arturo.
Chosen answer: It's left for us to wonder.
Question: How was the title of this episode written? It makes no sense; is it a play on words or something?
Chosen answer: It is basically in reference to the fact that when they arrived, everything that was happening happened when they were leaving the last world. So it was basically time again means it is the same thing and world means similar world.
Question: What is the specific legal reason why "Nikke" and "Weeties" had to be misspelled, yet the spelling and logo for The Gap is unaltered?
Chosen answer: It's just like any product placement in TV or film; the Gap probably granted permission as well as paid for their logo to be featured whereas Nike and Wheaties (General Mills) did not.
Question: Does the beginning of the pilot episode take place on our earth? Or is it left for us to wonder?
Chosen answer: It's never said, so the implication is that yes, the one our crew starts from is our Earth.
Question: After Arturo, Wade and Quinn jump into the wormhole, what caused the wormhole to suddenly go outside and send Rembrandt into it?
Answer: Quin wasn't sure how large to make the wormhole to accommodate everyone. He made it too big, which resulted in Rembrandt to drive into it.
But what caused the wormhole to go outside? Why didn't it remain in the basement?
Question: In the pilot episode, the wormhole physically travels to "capture" Quinn and bring him back to his own world, after his very first slide. How did the wormhole know where Quinn was?
Chosen answer: Remember at first Quinn's timer is working perfectly (it's only because they slide off the ice age world early that it begins to malfunction) & given Quinn's intellect he would have devised a way that he could open a wormhole near him so he wouldn't be trapped on that world for 29 years.
Question: The four main protagonists are constantly sliding into a different universe, with just the clothes on their backs, and they are usually very short of money or have money not used in that universe. So, how come they have such a varied and expensive wardrobe?
Answer: They could go to an ATM and withdraw money from the account of that universe's double or, depending on how long they're stuck in whatever dimension they're in, they could do some odd jobs for some extra cash.
Question: Has Quinn, Wade, Rembrandt or Arturo ever found out what caused the Slider to malfunction?
Answer: It didn't malfunction. If I remember correctly, Quinn forgot to enter the coordinates to go home into the device.
The device (timer) didn't open up a vortex to their home world because they opened the vortex up too early, before the timer hit zero. They were on a frozen planet and didn't think they could survive 5 hours and Quinn didn't realise that's what his double was warning him about. The vortex expanded to engulf Rembrandt because Quinn added too much power into the vortex to allow 3 people to slide.
Answer: The warning that his double never got to finish before being sent back to his home dimension was not to speed up the timer. That's what scrambled the timer's coordinates and launched them on the quest to find home.
