Coronation Street

Trivia: The original working title was to be "Florizel Street," but this was dropped as it sounded too much like a disinfectant, according to the then producers.

Trivia: In the episode where Maria gets back together with Nick and Candica slaps her, the slap was real, they did it three times to make it look real.

Trivia: The famous scene that caused controversy, where Ken grabs Deirdre by the neck after finding out about her and Mike, wasn't in the script, it was an improvisation. William Roache, who plays Ken, thought that Ken's reaction was a bit unrealistic. The director told him to do what he thought Ken's reaction would be, and therefore Ken grabbed Deirdre's throat and slammed her against a wall.

Trivia: Although they play mother and daughter, Sue Nicholls is only seven years older than Helen Worth.

Trivia: The show was originally planned to be a 16 part drama.
