Three's Company

Cousin Cuisine - S7-E7

Character mistake: Maria (Felipe's cousin) supposedly didn't understand any English (only single words like "yes") and would answer (in Spanish) "Que?" after a full sentence of English was spoken to her. However, in front of Jack, one of the girls said to Maria "Tell Jack the new English word you just learned" and Maria understandingly responded "No." There's no way that Maria could respond correctly to that question since she didn't understand any other English sentences throughout the episode.

Diamond Jack - S7-E3

Character mistake: At the roller skating rink, Jack looks at the menu on the wall in the snack bar while ordering two sodas and says "What are they... 50 cents a piece?" However, only food items and candy are listed on the menu and drinks are not mentioned at all. How did he know the price?

Cousin Cuisine - S7-E7

Character mistake: When Felipe thinks Jack proposed to his cousin Maria, Felipe is happy and congratulates Jack. Later in the episode though, Maria's fiancé shows up and Felipe is shown as already knowing about him. Why wouldn't Felipe tell Jack that Maria was already engaged instead of showing happiness of Jack's "proposal"?

Suggested correction: You missed the entire plot of the episode. Maria's fiancé broke off the engagement, so she went to Felipe's. Then, when he thought Jack had proposed, he was happy. But Jack thought he was happy for offering her a job. Jack then begins talking about Maria as an employee (like trying her out in the kitchen and getting someone to train her). But Felipe thought Jack meant those things about Maria being his wife and got mad at Jack. Then told Jack he's not marrying Maria.

Strange Bedfellows - S2-E4

Continuity mistake: When Mr. Roper tries to explain to the girls and his wife what he was doing in Jack's bedroom, watch over Mr. Roper's left shoulder on the shelf. The number of yellow cans on the shelf keep alternating between one and two cans throughout several minutes. In addition, also notice the suitcase on the floor under the shelf as well. Whenever one yellow can is shown, the suitcase is by itself and whenever two yellow cans are shown, there is a square silver bag in front of the suitcase.

An Anniversary Surprise - S3-E20

Trivia: Many TV stations over the years left out the original ending scene (the small party held before the Ropers leave). This scene explains how The New Landlord Mr. Furley knew Jack was supposedly gay in the first episode without anyone mentioning it. This ending reveals Roper told the new owners Jack was gay. Without seeing this ending, the storyline is unclear.

Show generally

Question: During the first three seasons, all the main cast appeared in every episode (except one without Joyce Dewitt by season 3), but it seems once Suzanne Somers left the show, episodes had some cast members absent on a regular basis (mainly Richard Kline and Don Knotts who both only appeared in selected episodes in the later seasons). Was it a sudden budget cut or another reason for this?

Answer: Richard Kline and Don Knotts were supporting cast members, who could be replaced at anytime. It was John Ritter, Joyce DeWitt and Suzanne Somers who were the star vehicles they relied on to carry the show.
