Continuity mistake: The size of the paper Rene uses for the pigeon grows substantially when Herr Flick find it near the end of the episode. (00:19:45 - 00:29:20)
Suggested correction: Rene never uses his small paper because it is too small to write down all the information Michelle dictates to him. The paper Herr Flick finds is Michelle's paper with the measurements of the German soldiers. We never see the full size of this paper.
