Death in Paradise

Episode #3.2 - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: When Humph says."was the intended victim all along", a walking extra in a grey hat quickly pops in view, and disappears in the next shot. He appears again walking in the same direction a couple cuts later, when Dwayne hunches over the trunk (which would be far behind the first point we saw him at). (00:45:00)

Episode #3.2 - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: Humph brags about how he discovered about the affair from a cup of tea; in a wide shot of the whole room he then says "Which is also how I figured out..."; in the background, walking left to right is the same man in cream tank and black bandanna that was already doing the same as an extra earlier in the reveal scene ("It was all a deception, of course") and vanishes in the next shot. Episode #3.2 - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: Humphrey is doing his Humphrey thing coming up with the solution. He screams "That's it!" In a close-up of the mug on the desk, with a coaster in front of it. But he just pushed the mug aside in the previous shot, close to the chocolate card. (00:42:30)

Episode #3.2 - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: Dwayne offers to help the 'Chief' to meet new women. There's some banter with the other colleagues, and then Fidel says that "In a weird way that actually makes sense." Dwayne is holding a book in front of his stomach - in the next shot, he has his arms down his sides, so Fidel can poke him in the tummy. (00:21:35)

Episode #3.2 - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: When Camille and Humphrey discuss the 'tea debacle', the yellow cup changes the direction it is facing (look at the handle) several times between shots. The folder of case files she puts on his desk changes direction as well. (00:40:35)

Other mistake: Camille shows Humph some bank statements. Susie's is unreadable at normal speed, while you can tell that Carl Collins' is a January 2014 statement, and Arnold Finch's is a March 2013 one, not quite comparable nor really making sense being so outdated. His totals don't add up at all, either, supposedly being on the brink of financial ruin but with 12,000 in the account after a positive of 4,000, an in payment of 1,200 and a long series of withdrawals and payments. Episode #3.2 - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: Humph and Camille barge into Carl Collins' bungalow. He almost thinks he got away with the situation when Humph says "Glad we've cleared that up", and removes his hand from the canopy post. But in the next shot he still has his hand there. (00:30:20)

Episode #3.2 - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: After they spoke with the grumpy writer, Humphrey tells Camille about the domestic dispute in Lexi's hotel room and they both hop in the car. During this part of the scene, there are several extra leaving the screen either left or right and some are shooting hoops in the background. When we see the two cops drive away, they drive by a few people on the road who are the same extras from before and that were going in separate directions. (00:25:00)

Factual error: When Camille shows the emails to Humphrey, the last one in the list is dated Tue 15/01/2014, which was a Wednesday. It should also be noted that the list does not appear to be sorted by any criteria that would work on Outlook Express. (00:22:00)

Episode #3.2 - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: When Dwayne and Lexi begin rehearsing her lines, the pen changes position between shots after he gives his Angel Gabriel performance, and when he is standing and expresses appreciation for her delivery there's an obvious incoherence in the movement of his arm, with the hand hovering on the script in one shot and off the way entirely in the next. Besides, he was starting his reading "from the top" but the finger supposedly following the conversation was almost at the end of the page. (00:21:05)

Episode #3.2 - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: Humphrey starts picking up his things from the desk to join Camille when the first day is over. She tells him "I thought you'd be rushing home..." He is in the foreground during the line, and we see a glimpse of the documents getting under his arm, but he was already clutching them close in the shot before. (00:16:15)

Episode #3.2 - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: Susie the runner forgot the milk in Camille and Humphrey's tea. Camille meanwhile found the teabag in her cup and to pick it up she puts her notepad under her armpit. When the ditzy blonde turns towards her with the carafe of milk she has the pad on the cup hand again. (00:14:55)

Episode #3.2 - S3-E2

Character mistake: When Camille and Humphrey browse the writers' message board, the post done by Arnold Finch under the pen name of "Grumpywriter" contains a variety of spelling mistakes unbecoming of a writer (but that often happen in this show's prop department) such as "unnecasary" "tallentless imbecel." Earlier (hard to catch it without slo-mo in this case) in his mail we see him ask about puffer fish poison and "it's toxicity" and sign the mail with "Sincerly." The subject of another mail in the inbox is "Updated Shedule." (00:22:30)

Episode #3.2 - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: Humphrey has spoken with Lexi and the director, with awareness for the first time that the chocolate box may have been for her. He then talks with Camille. Look behind him when she says "No box of chocolate was delivered to Lexi"; a man in jean cut-offs is carrying some equipment. Camille and Humphrey then talk and a mini-flashback pops up, with about 10 seconds on effective dialogue, and when it cuts back to them, that same crewmember is carrying the same piece of equipment walking the same way from the same spot as before.
