Character mistake: The Shadow Duelist activates the effect of Terrorking Archfiend, where he states if the monster is targeted by an opponent's card, a number between 1 and 6 is chosen at random, and if the number selected is 2 or 5, then Terrorking Archfiend won't be affected by it. Chumley then states the odds are in Jaden's favour, to which Syrus dismisses this, saying he flunked math. However, Chumley is actually correct, as the odds for Jaden are 4 in 6, whereas the odds for the duelist are 2 in 6. (00:15:45 - 00:16:09)
Continuity mistake: When Chumley hands Jaden his duel disk, Jaden puts it on and his deck of cards cannot be seen inside it. Jaden then walks over to face the Shadow Duelist, where his deck is suddenly inside the duel disk. Then a few seconds after that, he puts the deck of cards in the duel disk. (00:12:13)
Continuity mistake: When Jaden summons Elemental Hero Clayman to the field in defence mode, another version of the card appears beneath Clayman for him to kneel on. The card is shaded yellow, but around a minute later, the Clayman card is suddenly shaded orange. (00:10:14 - 00:11:09)
Continuity mistake: Crowler opens his trench coat to Chazz and his friends to reveal the rare cards. The cards are displayed in the boat as three separate rows, all equally distanced from one another. A couple seconds later, in the shot of Crowler saying "What's the matter, Chazz? Don't recognise me", the top row of cards is suddenly further away from the other two rows. (00:08:10)
Duel Distractions: Part 1 - S1-E36
Continuity mistake: When Syrus tells Chumley about his card crush, Chumley raises a card that he has a crush on to Syrus. He is shown holding the card with two fingers at a straight angle. When the shot cuts to a close-up of the card, Chumley's fingers are at a bent angle. (00:02:54)
Continuity mistake: When Chumley runs to the edge of the cliff, in the wide shot when he stops running, Chumley's hands are at his side. He then starts to shout to his father, and his hands are raised to his face. (00:19:26)
Continuity mistake: When Jaden and Syrus are saying goodbye to Chumley, Jaden extends his hand and Chumley grabs onto it with both his hands. Jaden has his thumb over Chumley's fingers at first, but when the shot cuts, Jaden's hand is completely covered by Chumley's hands. (00:18:39)
Continuity mistake: After Jaden has picked up the Level 1 card, in the shot of Syrus saying to Jaden he really lucked out, there is one card on the table in front of Chumley. A couple seconds later, when the shot focuses on Chumley and Syrus after Jaden begins the story, there are suddenly two cards in front of Chumley. (00:02:29)
Plot hole: When the collection of rare cards is shown inside Crowler's jacket, the Fusion monster Ojama King can be seen as one of the rare cards. However, Chazz doesn't acquire the Ojama cards until later in the season, and he is unaware of their existence until he gets them. Also, the Ojama cards are depicted as relatively useless, unless used in the right way, so it is extremely doubtful that an Ojama card would be seen in a collection of cards that are depicted as rare and valuable. Continuity mistake: When Crowler reveals the rare cards in his jacket, on the top row, there is a spell card with an orange hammer on the illustration (This card is called Hammer Shot). There are then a series of close-ups of the card, and when the Hammer Shot card is shown in the close-up, it is suddenly on one of the middle rows. (00:08:10)
Other mistake: When Jaden summons Elemental Hero Clayman to the field, the card is shaded orange. Clayman does not have special abilities, and monsters without abilities are shaded yellow, and monsters with abilities are shaded yellow. The card also appears to be flipped, as the attack and defence points shown on the card are reversed. (00:16:50)
Continuity mistake: When Crowler breaks the lock to the girls' dorm, the lock and the chain that the lock is placed in land on the ground. The chain changes position when Syrus runs past it later in the scene. (00:06:02 - 00:06:52)
Audio problem: After Jaden says he and Syrus are their new roommates, Chumley turns his back to Jaden and Syrus to go back to sleep. Jaden and Syrus then turn to each other and say "Uh", but their lips don't move. (00:03:40)
Graduation Match: Part 1 - S1-E51
Audio problem: After Jaden and Zane shake hands and the duel starts, there is a wide shot of the arena where the students are heard cheering for them. But the students all appear to be sitting completely still and motionless, and their mouths don't move in any way. (00:06:35)
Amnael's Endgame: Part 1 - S1-E45
Continuity mistake: When Jaden summons Bubbleman to the field, he uses the card's special ability to draw two more cards from his deck. There are two cards in his right hand, due to him drawing them from his deck. But then there is a close-up of his right hand, where there is now only one card in his hand. (00:11:00)
Amnael's Endgame: Part 1 - S1-E45
Continuity mistake: At the start of the duel, in the shot where Amnael says "Is that so? But what if you do not possess what it takes Jaden", there are five cards in his hand. The card positioned second to Amnael's right is placed beneath the other four cards. A couple seconds later, after activating Chaos Distil, whilst he is explaining the card's effect, the card positioned second to his right is now placed over the card to the right of it. Continuity mistake: When Chumley picks up Pharoah after finding him, Jaden and Syrus walk over to him. Light can be seen cast over the three of them from the torches they are holding, but in the next shot, the light from the torch has disappeared from their bodies. (00:16:48)

Continuity mistake: When Jaden, Syrus, Chumley and Chazz are searching Professor Banner's room, Chumley finds a note that has been folded over one time. In the next shot, the note is suddenly unfolded. (00:06:08)
