Continuity mistake: When the pipe creatures turn into hands, they have no stripes on them, but in the next shot, yellow stripes have appeared. In the shot afterwards, the stripes on the purple pipe creature change from yellow to blue, while the number of fingers the hands have changes from five to three. (00:11:29)
