Skyfall (2012)

Corrected entry: We don't see where Moneypenny shot Bond, and are never told later in the film, but no wound is visible when he is swimming, or when Silva undoes his shirt, only the wound he got on the train in the right shoulder.

Correction: Moneypenny's shot hit Bond in the same place [or very nearly] as his earlier wound. You can clearly see in the scene where he digs the bullet shrapnel from his scar tissue that there are two bullet shaped scars, a small one from the train and a larger one from Moneypenny's rifle.

Rocky Balboa (2006)

Corrected entry: It was announced at the end that Mason Dixon was still the heavyweight champion of the world. But this was an exhibition bout, so even if Rocky had won, Dixon would still be the champion. So there was no need to announce it.

Jason Feng

Correction: Yes there was. Mason IS the champion and HAS just won the fight. The fact that the title was not on the line doesn't matter, the announcer is just doing his job, announcing the proper title of the winner of the fight.

Corrected entry: In the movie, black powder (gunpowder) is detonated by firing a musketball into it; however, black powder detonates at approximately 320C(600F), while bullet temperature has been measured at only 267C shortly after leaving the barrel, not enough to ignite the powder. See http://www.indigosystems.com/PDF/articles/R&D_article.pdf and http://www.americanpyro.com/fireservice/Ignition%20Temperatures.pdf.

Correction: Actually, if you watch closely, the musketball strikes the metal rim of the barrel, sending a shower of sparks into the spilling rum/black powder mixture, causing ignition.

Superman Returns (2006)

Corrected entry: During the airliner crash sequence, there are two cuts to the cockpit after both wings (and engines) have been torn off. In one, you can hear the flight deck computer saying "Overspeed. Overspeed". Later, after the plane is on the ground, you can hear "Fly up. Fly up." Both are valid warnings at the time, but without engines there is no power for these systems, and exterior shots don't show a ram air turbine deployed for backup power.

Correction: The computers and other electrical equipment on modern airliners are run on batteries that are recharged from the main engines during flight, like car batteries. The engines themselves do not power these systems directly. The computers therefore would still have power for the duration of the flight in the movie.

The Da Vinci Code (2006)

Corrected entry: When Langdon finally succeeds in cracking the code to open the "cryptex", he explains to Sophie that the code-word devised by Isaac Newton could only be "apple", since it had been thanks to an apple that he had discovered that which "had annoyed the Church so much, the Law of Gravity". As far as we know, the Catholic Church had no objection to the Law of Gravity and Newton was living in a Protestant country anyway. Besides, the story about the apple was corroborated by Newton himself, that is true, but its notoriety, a typical "science fairy-tale" is rather recent. The word seems to have been chosen here because it's the only thing that most people know now about Newton (including Dan Brown, apparently).

Correction: This is more clearly stated in the book, but it's there in the movie as well if you pay attention. Jacques Saunière (the Louvre curator murdered at the beginning of the movie) is the one who made the cryptex, he also wrote the riddle which was the clue to the combination. Therefore, HE was the one who picked 'Apple' as the answer, not Isaac Newton. Whether the apple is fact or fiction is irrelevant, its just the answer to the puzzle.

Corrected entry: In the military base, the T-850 repeatedly hits the T-X with an Penn Arms L6 37mm grenade launcher. Yet the grenades never explode, they just force the T-X backwards.

Correction: Most grenade launchers require that the target be a certain distance from the launcher before the round will detonate, short of this, they are just fast moving lumps of metal.
