Continuity mistake: While in the girls' lavatory after Harry speaks Parseltongue, in the overhead shot as the sink top rises and in the following close-up of Harry, Ron and Lockhart, the boys stand close to the wall behind them. However, in the next overhead shot as the sinks seperate Harry and Ron are directly in front of the sinks. (01:58:40)

Visible crew/equipment: Ron and Harry discuss the Basilisk's victims and, speaking of Mrs. Norris, Harry says, "There was water on the floor that night. She only saw the Basilisk's reflection." Just before Harry reads aloud from the paper again, the crew's gas torch canister with regulator and tip, that sits in a bucket beside another bucket, leans against the wall. Continuity mistake: In the Slytherin common room, the green pillow at Malfoy's arm while he sits on the couch differs in the very first shot from behind Malfoy and the ones facing him. The wood logs change behind Malfoy and the marks in the dust on the table between two sofas in front of Goyle differs greatly, after Malfoy asks, "How many times do I have to tell you?" (01:22:30)

Visible crew/equipment: After the Whomping Willow adventure, when the car tosses Scabbers out, in this shot there is a very long METAL BAR attached under the dashboard to the right of the steering column. This metal bar is not in any other shots. (00:28:15)

Visible crew/equipment: When Harry, Ron and Lockhart are in the girls' lavatory, Harry speaks Parseltongue to open the Chamber. Lockhart then tries to escape so the boys push him back. In this shot the white strips taped to the small black mat, which itself is taped to the floor for Rupert's mark, are plainly visible at his feet. (01:59:20)

Revealing mistake: After the car shows up to save Ron and Harry from the spiders, Harry shouts, "Arania Exumai!" The light from his wand illuminates the car and the NORMAL tread back tire is visible. When they are in the car Harry shouts, "Go!" In the close-up of the tire, before it starts to spin, the tread on the tire is once again visible. However it's an entirely different tire, a deep tread SNOW tire no less. (01:48:10)

Visible crew/equipment: When Harry and Ron are in the car fleeing from the spiders, there is a close-up of them looking towards the back of the car as they drive backwards. Two shots before the close-up of them yelling, "Wooooh!!!" there is a wide shot of the Dark Forest and the car at the top of the screen just as it starts to jump over the tree roots. In this wide shot at the bottom of the screen, the HEADS of TWO crew members are wonderfully visible! (Visible on fullscreen DVD.) (01:48:20)

Visible crew/equipment: Ron and Harry hide under the invisibility cloak in Hagrid's hut. After Lucius Malfoy enters he starts to walk towards the invisible boys and they nervously back up. As they back up, something large comes up from the bottom of the screen in front of the boys then quickly goes back down. The boys do NOT hold anything when they go under the cloak and they do not hold anything when they come out (fully visible on fullscreen DVD). (01:39:45)

Continuity mistake: When Harry is in the Gryffindor common room with the diary, the candle in the lantern changes height dramatically. It is short in all shots, yet when the diary transports Harry and when it transports him back, the candle is much taller. (01:28:00)

Continuity mistake: After Riddle yells, "Stop! No!" Harry stabs the diary the 1st time. In the next shot, as Riddle stares at the hole in his chest, he drops Harry's wand and it bounces near the Sorting Hat (fullscreen edition). In Riddle's close-up he is in the same position, he still stares at the gaping hole in his chest and Harry's wand is again in his hand. (02:15:20)

Continuity mistake: When Harry escapes into the Ford Anglia, in the interior shot Ron grabs firm hold of Harry under his left arm, while Vernon pulls on Harry's foot. In the overhead exterior shot Ron's arm holds Harry above his arm, yet in the next close-up of Harry, Ron's arm is under Harry's. Then just after Ron yells, "Drive!" Ron's arm is over Harry's arm once again. (00:09:45)

Continuity mistake: At the Dursley residence, when Harry wakes up and gets out of bed to look out the window, a bowl and plate with leftovers sit on the desk. In the following shots, until Vernon goes after Harry out the window, the food on the plate changes and the plate changes position back and forth on the table. When Vernon yells, "Petunia, he's escaping," in the interior shot the lamp is at the corner of the bed, yet in the next exterior shot it's lying on the pillow. The position of Harry's comforter changes during his escape as well. (00:08:25)

Continuity mistake: When the car flies towards the Whomping Willow, Ron holds the wand as both of Harry's hands desperately try to steer the car. Yet in the next shot facing the Whomping Willow, only Ron's hand is visibly on the steering wheel. Then in the next couple of shots Harry is still gripping the steering wheel trying to avoid the tree. (00:26:30)

Visible crew/equipment: While in the Whomping Willow, Ron asks, "What's happening?" and Harry replies, "I don't know." After a few other shots, in the next two front close-ups of the boys in the front seats as they scream, behind Harry we can see a crew member's hand grips the bottom of Hedwig's cage in the back seat, and in the 2nd close-up lays the cage on its side. Visible crew/equipment: While chasing the Snitch, Malfoy says, "You'll never catch me, Potter." In the following wide shot from the side, the seat support under Tom Felton's left thigh is visible, as he was filmed sitting upright for this particular shot. In the following front shot of both together, as Harry passes Malfoy, the seats that are attached to the broomsticks, to add a bit of comfort for Dan Radcliffe and Tom Felton, are visible. Visible crew/equipment: While Harry is chased by the Bludger, Hermione says, "No! Even with a proper wand you could hit Harry..." Three shots later, as Harry passes the blue Ravenclaw tower, the back of his robe flies up and the metal base of the seat he sits on is perfectly visible. Some shots are filmed vertically, as he sits on the attached seat with the upright broomstick in front of him, but then edited with the background plate to look as if he is lying on the horizontal broomstick. Hence the need for a seat perpendicular to the broomstick. (00:55:00)

Continuity mistake: After Lockhart releases the pixies there is an overhead shot of Neville being lifted to the ceiling while students down below start to flee the classroom, including Malfoy and Goyle. In the next shot as Malfoy and Goyle, who are still at the desks, start to run towards the camera, Lockhart is visibly running up the stairs in the background, though in the following shots he's downstairs. Revealing mistake: Throughout the Quidditch match, Harry's right arm guard is visible. At the top, over his elbow, there is an attached strip of leather that is tied securely around his arm and the three short straps are snugly buckled around his forearm. However, as the Bludger approaches just before breaking his arm, the ties on the strip of leather are GONE, though visibly tucked up in the close-up and the buckled straps are considerably LONGER, deliberately causing the arm guard to be very loose. The position of the arm guard differs in the two close-ups as well. (00:57:10)
