Suggested correction: Billy Ray's sneakers do not change from black to white. Rewatch the scene, please. The two officers confront Billy Ray about being a con man, then lift Billy up from the wooden rolling crate, and when Billy lowers his legs, we see he's wearing white sneakers with a downward black stripe; these appear to be white Puma sneakers (00:15:00). Billy continues to wear these white sneakers outside the Heritage Club before and after he bumps into Winthorpe, being accused of stealing his briefcase, and when he gets chased inside the club.

Correction: It was January 2, Winthorp said it at the beginning of the movie.
Correction: Adding to the original correction: At 00:21:50, Penelope mentions the party that Mumsy wants to have for them on January 2, so Winthorpe tells her he can't do it that day because January 2 is the day the crop reports come out.
