Suggested correction: Gary never had eyelashes at any point throughout the show.

zenee

Suggested correction: So Gary not having eyelashes could count as an early design for him. It's common that characters and environments may undergo changes after a pilot. Not a mistake.

But Gary never had eyelashes.

Tenacle-vision/I Heart Dancing - S7-E8

Character mistake: In "I Heart Dancing", the lady at the Krusty Krab tells Spongebob the dancing audition is the next day. Later, Spongebob is practicing at Squidward's house for a whole night, and the next morning Squidward says they have one more day to practice, even though the audition should have been that day.

Suggested correction: The audition could have been during the afternoon.

Suggested correction: When Squidward told SpongeBob, "We've got one day, SpongeBob," he was referring to the time of day that they had to practice before the audition at noon.

Suggested correction: Very wrong. SpongeBob's pet scallop, Shelley, can be seen in SpongeBob's room in many episodes throughout the show. Some examples shortly after this episode include "Home Sweet Pineapple," "Opposite Day," and "Suds." You can find all of Shelley's appearances here: https://spongebob.fandom.com/wiki/Shelley/appearances.

Suggested correction: That doesn't happen between two shots. Gary's head is hovering over the mud puddle in one shot, then it cuts back to SpongeBob before he falls out of the tree. Gary gets out of that position off-screen.

Suggested correction: The TV has not been replaced by a door when they enter the room. It is in the room in both shots; both when SpongeBob tells Gary about the treasure and when they enter the room.

Suggested correction: This is simply one of the many gags that occur in this show. In the same scene, SpongeBob has a third arm while playing with the action figures. Problematic? No, that's a gag too. Throughout the show, the characters are capable of doing many impossible tasks (drinking water underwater, floating, growing limbs, etc.). The expressions on the action figures changing is another one of the impossible things that can happen in this fantasy world.

Suggested correction: When SpongeBob is showing Squidward the bubble-blowing technique (specifically after he does the pelvic thrust), he is in the same location he was in when he did the technique for Patrick, except a little more to the right. The red coral on the left was just off screen.

Suggested correction: He might not have been aiming directly at Squidward's house at that moment, but after that shot, there is a 5-second shot of Squidward in his bed before SpongeBob crashes through his wall. Within those 5 seconds off-screen, there was time for Plankton (who is controlling SpongeBob) to turn SpongeBob towards the direction of Squidward's house.

Suggested correction: When SpongeBob walks up to Plankton, he steps on him with his right foot, then pulls him off that same foot. No continuity error.

Suggested correction: It does not land on his torso. When Patrick drops the watermelon on Squidward, his mouth is wide open in a very cartoonish way, and the watermelon lands inside it.

Christmas Who? - S2-E5

Continuity mistake: In "Jellyfishing" when Squidward gets home from the hospital, Patrick exclaims Merry Christmas! However, later on in the series it is revealed that nobody in Bikini Bottom even knew what Christmas was.

Suggested correction: The episodes are not always meant to be in chronological order. It's entirely possible that "Christmas Who?" took place before "Jellyfishing."

Suggested correction: Maybe Squidward has a key to the Krusty Krab that Mr. Krabs doesn't know about.

ccoccia

Absolutely not. There is a very clear shot of Squidward pushing the doors open without a key.

zenee

He could still have a key, but we don't see it.

Whether or not Squidward owns a key to the Krusty Krab is beyond the point of the mistake here. The point is that Squidward is able to walk into the Krusty Krab despite the doors being locked, and he doesn't use a key or anything else to unlock them. He just pushes them open.

zenee

Maybe the doors were not locked properly.

Suggested correction: The pencil is sitting to the right of the paper the entire time. It's hard to notice at first, but it's there.

Dunces and Dragons - S4-E6

Plot hole: After being spared, Medieval Sandy announced that she will help in the defeat of medieval Plankton. How did she know what they were planning?

Suggested correction: SpongeBob tells her their plan after he introduces himself to her.

Suggested correction: The clothes are being held up by a coat hanger. It may be hard to see due to it blending in with the wall color, but if you look closely, it's there.
