Plot hole: Despite the plot, Lucy couldn't be fooled by Jimmy and Timmy Hudson. True, they could be fraternal twins but not even Lucy could mistake them for being identical as one's got a higher voice and the other's shorter.

Revealing mistake: When the bed Lucy and Ricky are in moves as a train goes by look real close and you can see the wheels on it to help move it across the set piece.
Suggested correction: Not necessarily an error. My bed frame is on wheels.

Revealing mistake: When Fred and Ethel come with parts of their apartment's ceiling on them look closely at Ethel. The piece on her left shoulder falls off revealing what looks like a velcro pad to keep it in place.

Continuity mistake: Here it's said by the Ricardos that Fred and Ethel have been married for 25 years. Problem is in Season 1's episode "The Girls Want To Go To the Nightclub" the Mertzes both say they've been married for 18 years.

Character mistake: When Fred, Ethel, and Ricky confront Lucy on what she wrote about them in her novel Ricky states "I'm so hammy I should go lie down between two slices of rye bread." This is incorrect. Lucy wrote "He turned into such a big ham you could stuff him with cloves."

Question: Why would Ethel do a silly thing as pinching chocolates to see what kind they were? Surely she'd realise this wasn't a good idea.

Revealing mistake: When Lucy's pinned against the sink by her bread Ethel goes for a saw. If you watch the doorway you can see her shadow where she's being given the saw.

Plot hole: Lucy mentions if Ricky comes home by bus, cab, or subway then they win the bet. Problem is unless they live next to a subway she wouldn't know if he'd used it.

Question: Why did they go by car to California? I assume it was to get several episodes out of it though wouldn't it have been easier to go by train?
Answer: Well, within the storyline of the show, the answer to your question is given in the prior episode, "Getting Ready," where we see Lucy reading various brochures while Ricky is on the phone trying to book their tickets. The decision went from going by plane, to train, to bus, and finally to the idea of going by car so they could stop where they want for as long as they want, etc. Of course, production wise, this decision allowed for the following episode scripts to have more creative shenanigans.

Question: Why would Ethel think Fred's enlisted? He wouldn't be allowed in due to his age right? I know the plot yet this thinking makes no sense.

Plot hole: How does Lucy get back up to the apartment bound and gagged? It would seem impossible to hop up all those steps, possibly take several hours if not all night.
