General questions

This is a TV movie from the early or mid seventies. A lady is in a sculptor's loft with several disassembled statues. A head of a statue sitting on a table starts speaking, saying to her, "you killed me, Rachel, you killed me!" She screams, picks up the head and smashes it on the floor. Anybody have an idea what the name of this movie was or who was in it?

This is something I watched as a child so my recollection of it is incredibly vague. I believe it was 80s or early 90s movie. Main character is a girl with thick glasses. I remember a scene where she puts her face into a mask looking thing on the wall and it gave her instant makeup. Then, I think, she ended up going to an underground city or something.

Answer: I believe the movie you're describing is a 1988 science fiction film, called Alien from L.A., that stars Kathy Ireland as a young woman who visits the underground civilization of Atlantis. "Wanda Saknussemm (Ireland) is a nerdy social misfit with large glasses and an intolerable squeaky voice who lives in Los Angeles and works at a diner. After being dumped by her boyfriend, Wanda is informed by a letter that her father, an archaeologist, has died. She flies to North Africa and while going through her father's belongings, she finds his notes about Atlantis, apparently an alien ship that crashed millennia ago and sank into the center of the Earth. Wanda comes across a chamber beneath her father's apartment and accidentally sets off a chain of events that ultimately cause her to fall into a deep hole." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092532/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-SclSgWSa4.

Need help remembering the name of an episode from the TV show CBS Storybreak. The episode is about a kid who has a model of a dinosaur. As soon as he puts the head on, he's immediately transported to another world populated by anthropomorphic dinosaurs. He befriends a dinosaur and has to escape from the clutches of an evil dinosaur who wants to make money off him.

I'm desperately looking for what I believe is an 80s or early 90s movie. It's an actress with a pixie cut blonde hair...she babysits this good looking young boy at a beach house I believe for the summer. They end up sleeping together near the end.

This movie wasn't Christine and it wasn't The Car, but it had a very similar plot. The movie was about a car that appeared out of nowhere and began abducting children but only some of them would be found. It's unknown what happened to the children who were still missing. A woman, who I believe was a bus driver, had a daughter who was kidnapped by the demonic vehicle so she goes in pursuit. When she finally tracks down the car, her daughter is seen halfway out of the window screaming for help.

Answer: I think it might be Wheels of Terror (1990). It's a 1990 American television movie directed by Christopher Cain and starring Joanna Cassidy and Marcie Leeds. The film revolves around the unseen driver of a black Dodge Charger, kidnapping, molesting, and sometimes murdering young girls around the fictional locale of Copper Valley, Arizona and a bus driver who chases the car, after it kidnaps her daughter played by Marcie Leeds. Marcie Leeds was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress in a Cable Special. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100917/ Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obmEpWMScKY.

Here's a tough one. I'm searching for a color, live-action, grade "B" sci-fi movie from the 1970s about a modern home in the desert Southwest that seems to be at the center of a time/space vortex. The family (I recall a father and son, but there could be more) is terrified because they never know what is waiting for them outside: It might be a Tyrannosaurus Rex from the distant past or an alien invader from the distant future or anything in-between. This was not a comedy and it actually had pretty good special effects for a "B" movie back then. What is this film?

Charles Austin Miller

Chosen answer: It sounds like the movie "The Day Time Ended (1979) " A family moves into their state-of-the-art solar-powered home in an isolated part of the desert to start a new peaceful life. Meanwhile, far away in deep space, three stars simultaneously explode, sending disruptive, time-bending shock waves through the cosmic void. These waves hit the house and soon some mighty bizarre things begin to happen, including a sudden resurgence of dinosaurs in their backyard, visitations from diminutive aliens, and a robot from outer space. The film is also titled Time Warp. Http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080596/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_Time_Ended https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi1jVn9jE78.

There's a film that's very similar to 2005's The Pacifier and I cannot remember what it was called. The premise was nearly the same as The Pacifier, but the kids were a bit older and one of them was asthmatic - there was a scene in it where somebody threw his inhaler away either off a bridge or next to a river and the asthmatic kid broke down into tears. I think it may be newer than The Pacifier.

Neil Jones

Chosen answer: I think it might be "The Spy Next Door (2010) " with Jackie Chan and Billy Ray Cyrus. CIA superspy Bob Ho is retiring from the business and plans to settle down with his girlfriend Gillian and her three children. His final espionage assignment - a last-ditch attempt to take down his longtime nemesis, Russian terrorist Poldark - is seriously hampered when one of Gillian's children mistakenly downloads a top-secret file on Bob's computer. Bob must now juggle his new role as stepfather to three wayward children with dodging the bullets of Russian mobsters.

I'm trying to identify a movie I saw in the 1960s or 70s. A girl's mother is trying to make her think she's crazy. There's a scene where she sees her dead father's body in her playhouse and she runs away through the woods. A hand reaches out from leaves on the path and grabs her ankle. Freaked me out as a child and I'd like to see it again.

Chosen answer: It's "A Taste of Evil" (1971). It stars Barbara Stanwyck, Barbara Parkins and Roddy McDowall. Barbara Parkins plays a young rape victim, recently released from a mental institution. She begins experiencing "flashbacks"; are these merely illusions, or is she being systematically tortured to drive her insane by a mystery villain? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067828.

I am looking for the title of a movie...I believe from the late 80s or early 90s it is a period drama...turn of the century. A young woman marries an older man with a beard. They have several children and one of the children is injured in I believe a hunting accident and becomes blind (I think).

Answer: It's "Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All (1994)". Adapted from Allan Gurganus's 1989 book of the same name, it chronicles the life of Lucy Marsden, a 99-year-old North Carolina woman who at age 14 married a 50-year-old Confederate veteran of the Civil War and bore nine children. Diane Lane stars as Lucy from her teenage years into middle age, and Anne Bancroft plays Lucy approaching her 100th birthday, telling her story in flashback. The Confederate War veteran Captain William Marsden is played by Donald Sutherland. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110721/plotsummary.
