Revealing mistake: Tanner Boatwright was used as a leg double for Augustus. In the part of the sex scene where they shoot from the feet up, you can see that the amputated thigh is thinner and has a slightly different colored tone of leg hair than Ansel's actual leg. (01:05:25)

Continuity mistake: In the Night of The Broken Trophies scene, when Isaac stands up and goes after the TV, there is a clock visible to the left of his head. The clock's time changes drastically about five times.

Trivia: The Jesus song that Patrick sings during support group was made up on the spot. There is also some hilarious deleted footage where he discusses his balls in detail.

Trivia: The song that Isaac scream-sings when he is upset over the break up is "Rules", a song written by him and his brother Alex.

Trivia: If you look closely when Hazel is coming out of the store with the eggs, Isaac can be seen with one of Gus's cigarettes. Since he cannot see it, he has it backwards and Augustus turns it around for him.

Continuity mistake: In the support group scene including Augustus, when he shows off his prosthetic leg, he pulls his jeans back down over his shoe. In the next shot, his jeans are tucked into his shoe.

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, she's at the doctor "late in the winter of her 17th year." She meets Gus not long after. When he is texting her about AIA at the table, the date on her phone is in May. It seems that the passage of time is a bit off.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Gus is showing Hazel the virgin diagram, when they are seen standing, there is a deep ridge in the dirt that curves around the diagram. When there's a close up on it, the ridge is not as deep and seems to be running tangent to the circle.

Continuity mistake: Murph, the support group dude with no hair, is seen walking our of a car in the background of the second support group scene while Hazel and her mom are talking. He is seen moments later in the elevator seated in a wheelchair.
