Trivia: When Monarch is talking about this being his best De Leon, he compares it to great works of art. "David" and "Pietà" are both works by Michelangelo. "Soup Can" is in reference to Andy Warhol's "Campbell's Soup Cans" painting.

Trivia: In the beginning, the movie playing at the drive-in is Steve McQueen's "Bullitt", considered by many to have the best car chase scenes as well as some of the coolest cars.

Trivia: Kato makes a comment of how time slows down when he fights. This is another reference to Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee punched and kicked so fast that it couldn't be seen on film and the film had to be slowed down just to see it. In addition, when filming, Lee still had to slow down his punches and kicks.

Trivia: The line the biker chick says in the beginning, "Say it ain't so, Rick" (after being disappointed in Wild Thing's clean cut look and using the word, cute), is from the legend of a kid saying "Say it ain't so, Joe" to Shoeless Joe Jackson when the White Sox were accused of throwing the World Series. Joe Jackson also played for the Indians before the White Sox.

Trivia: The song Van Driessen (voiced by Mike Judge) sings "Lesbian Seagull", is a real song from 1979. Incidentally, Mike Judge heard the song during a David Letterman segment, "Dave's Record Collection." David Letterman does the voice of Butthead's dad.

Trivia: The character listed as Motley Crüe Roadie #1 is played by David Letterman, using the pseudonym Earl Hofert. This is the 2nd time Letterman uses that name in a film. Roadie #1 is Butthead's dad while Roadie #2 is Beavis' dad.

Trivia: In Howard's apartment we see the duck version of Raiders of the Lost Ark, "Breeders of the Lost Stork" from the creators of Beaks (Jaws) and Fowl Wars (Star Wars). This is referencing executive producer George Lucas's work, as well as director/writer William Huyck. Huyck did the screenplay for The Temple of Doom as well as being an uncredited writer for Star Wars.
