Zulu (1964)

Corrected entry: The soldiers wear parade dress uniforms, including white helmets displaying the regimental crest. On active service, they would have worn a more basic uniform with plain cork helmets, as correctly depicted in ZULU DAWN.

Correction: The white helmets were worn during the Rorke's Drift battle per Private Henry Hook's personal account: http://www.rorkesdriftvc.com/vc/hook_account.htm. It does seem unlikely, though that the rest of the parade dress uniform would have been worn in a remote post in South Africa.

La Confidential (1997)

Corrected entry: License plate numbers are incorrect. In the 1950s, there were 5 digit plates, but in the film, there are 6 or 7, like nowadays. (00:37:40)

Correction: Six-digit license plates were used in California as early as 1917, and were used regularly throughout the 1930's and 1940's. The scheme shown on the cars in the 1952-based movie is consistent with the usage at the time. See http://www.davesclp.com/california.htm for examples.

Ghost Ship (2002)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Epps and Ferriman have just found the gold, there are rats running all over it. If this ship has been at sea and know one has been on it since 1962, how can rats still be alive and running around?

Correction: There were other visitors aboard the ship prior to the Arctic Warrior crew (the digital watch they discovered on the bridge was left by a previous visitor; the extra features on the DVD also suggest previous encounters). It's possible that the rats came aboard with these visitors. It's also possible (although less plausible) that the rats on board in 1962 survived by consuming ship's stores and human remains, and that their descendants resorted to cannibalism once other sources of food ran out.

The Net (1995)

Corrected entry: During the movie, Sandra Bullock spends her nights in several different hotels. How does she pay for them? Since she hasn't got any type of credit card anymore, she'd have to pay cash all the time - why would she suddenly have so much money?

Correction: There's nothing stopping her from going to a pawn shop and hocking some of her belongings for cash.

MoonMan

Corrected entry: The story line is based around mobsters wanting to buy Nash's club to turn it into a casino, and then trying to pressure him when he won't sell. At the end the boss of the mobsters turns out to be a clone of Nash, complete even with his memory. If this is the case why buy the club? Just kill Nash and have the clone take over running the place.

Correction: The mobsters would also have to eliminate Nash's android, all of his employees, and anyone he does business with to run the club, just in case someone notices that the clone is acting contrary to Nash's wishes or interests. Not only that, but even for organized crime killing is a last resort (murder attracts much more attention from the authorities than extortion and there's always the chance an underling will botch things). It's easier just to pressure Nash into selling the club, making everything legitimate and risking far less jail time in case the scheme falls apart.

Starship Troopers (1997)

Corrected entry: Not a mistake, but I love how the three main characters, Rico, Carmen, and Carl (Doogie Howser) all become high ranking officers after just one year in the military. Especially Carl - Colonel after just one year. I like that army. Carmen - Captain of a major starship, and Rico - Lieutenant.

Correction: While Carl is a bit of a stretch, it is shown several times throughout the movie that the Mobile Infantry and the Fleet have taken tremendous casualties. Thus, Rico and Carmen could have ended up in command positions much earlier than they would have otherwise mainly because no one else is left.

Starship Troopers (1997)

Corrected entry: In the film, Buenos Aires suffers a meteor strike, and Rico's parents die. But the house were they live is near mountains. And the nearest mountains are as far as 1700 km from Buenos Aires...(the pampas are VERY plain). So, or they are alive and well, or the meteor hit The Andes. And not Buenos Aires...

Correction: Depending upon the size of the impactor, debris from the ejecta blanket rather than the impact itself could have spread as far as the Andes and killed Rico's parents.

The Terminator (1984)

Corrected entry: How can John Conner be born if he has to send the soldier back to protect Sarah, when the soldier then becomes John Connor's father. Its a paradox, an endless loop that can't get started. What came first the chicken or the egg?

Correction: It's entirely possible that someone else was the father in the original timeline, but Kyle became the father and modified the timeline.

October Sky (1999)

Corrected entry: When Mr. Bykovsky helps Homer with his rocket secretly in the middle of the night, John Hickham punishes him by sending him down to the coal mine to dig coal. When Mr. Bolden does the same exact thing in broad daylight, nothing happens.

Correction: Bykovsky explained to Homer that he was getting paid more to work in the mines than in the shop, and needed the money to send to his family in Europe. Hickham was actually doing him a favor.
