Factual error: Whenever the killer (always dressed in black with a balaclava disguising his/her identity) uses a knife, the blow invariably is an overhand strike. However, a knife in a downward thrust quite frequently simply skids off the overlapping ribcage of the victim.

Big Red One (1980)

Factual error: As the platoon fights their way through the Normandy hedgerows, the sergeant tells the men that he fought in the area during WWI. However, that area was far behind the trench lines located North of Paris, not too many Boche in Normandy in 1918.

Factual error: The movie takes place in Carolina Beach, N.C. (east coast), and yet a number of times the protagonist, and others, sit on the beach and watch the sun setting over the ocean.

Suggested correction: The power drops out but later on in the episode they have backup power. The problem is that the bat that gets into the base then takes out the backup power.

Factual error: Cam finishes tightening the alternator on his Pontiac, jumps in and starts the car. He pulls the automatic gear selector into drive, and the engine stalls. Without returning the selector back to "Park" or "Neutral" he attempts to start it. The motor grinds and grinds, however, when the vehicle is in gear, the starter is disabled.

Factual error: The Director of Operations is handed a fuel state for KGV and Rodney, and is advised they are 140 miles astern of Bismarck. He asks if they steam at full speed can they catch her. Since Bismarck can steam at 30 knots, and the British ships at 28 and 23 knots respectively, it was a question that shouldn't have even been broached.

Factual error: Unless the USS Logan's captain had been previously seconded to Bletchley Park, he would not be cognizant of the Enigma cypher machine, yet he instructs the chief to secure the one in the U-boat.

Factual error: During an emergency dive drill on the Swordfish, a bowl of dishes is dropped, causing the sonar operator to wince in pain. Unless the transducer was relocated to the interior of the sub, or the operator had overly sensitive hearing, it would not have impacted him so severely.

Factual error: When Sam reads the newspaper, one article claims that 254 people were killed in a Paris air raid. This episode takes place in February 1941, when Paris was already occupied by the Germans, and England did not bomb Paris. Oddly enough, this same article appears in a previous episode.

Factual error: Foyle's son is assigned to be a target for radar tracking, and he is assigned a Spitfire. However, the aircraft depicted is a four-bladed model, which didn't exist in 1940.

Hawkeye - S4-E18

Plot hole: When Hawkeye wrecks his jeep on his way back from an Aid Station, he has a Korean girl take a message to the 4077th, which he claims is 20 miles south. However, in virtually every episode, it is claimed that the 4077th is located 4 miles from the front lines.

Factual error: During the opening credits, it is stated that in WW2, German troops gave the US Marines the name of "Devil Dogs." At no time did the Wehrmacht engage the USMC.

Plot hole: It's a good thing Jake left the Corps....here he is lying in the bed of a pickup with a full-auto weapon, and he can't take out the radiator of a vehicle 20 feet back, with not one, not two, but 3 clips of ammunition. A few rounds through the radiator, coolant is gone, and the motor seizes.

Factual error: The newsreel at the start of the movie shows a carrier preparing to launch aircraft. The announcer claims it is the Enterprise, but in actuality, it is either the Lexington or the Saratoga, evidenced by the huge funnel.
