The Thing (1982)

Continuity mistake: When they are all outside and MacReady has separated the three most likely suspects and orders that they be tied down and tested, he comments at that time that they are to be hit by a storm in six hours. Cut to the scene where Mac is dictating into his recorder and he comments that the storm has been hitting them hard for 48 hours. However it is the same night and at best, maybe only an hour has passed.

The Day After (1983)

Trivia: The US department of defence did not allow the producers to use stock footage of actual mushroom clouds so they had to rely on special effects of the time, which is why the clouds appear so fake. They also wanted the script changed to state that the Russians started the war.

The Thing (1982)

Continuity mistake: When the dog, aka the The Thing, is led into the dog pen for the first time we see the floor is covered in a thick layer of straw for the dogs to sleep on. This is seen every time except when Childs uses the flame thrower. We get a wide shot of the pen as it's lit up in flame and the floor is now completely bare of any straw. There are also none of the recently deceased dogs that were lining the floor, being converted into Things. (00:31:05)

Death Warrant (1990)

Continuity mistake: At the boardroom scene, in the group wide shot, the man on Van Damme's left is just sitting there and there is a blue folder right next to his briefcase. In every close up, the same man is now holding a writing pad and the blue folder has completely disappeared. Cut to the last group wide shot, the blue folder suddenly reappears and the man is back to just sitting there and the writing pad has now disappeared.

Death Warrant (1990)

Revealing mistake: Outside the courthouse, there is a sudden downpour and the rain is coming almost straight down. Cut to a close-up of Van Damme and the rain is suddenly heavier, coming in at much more of an angle, and it's noticeable that Van Damme is not even getting wet. Cut back to the scene where Amanda is walking away, the rain is now back to being more vertical, is lighter and this shot shows that Van Damme's hair has not been touched by a single drop of rain.

Death Warrant (1990)

Other mistake: At the board meeting near the beginning, it's noticeable that there is a smoky haze in the room, and this is also very noticeable in several close-up scenes, where this smoke haze can be seen wafting behind them. It's far too thick and too prevalent to be considered steam from the coffee, however no-one appears to be smoking, and there's not even an ashtray on the table.

Slither (2006)

Plot hole: Not far into the movie, Starla decides to check out the basement to see what Grant's been up to. As soon as the door is opened she reels from the stench and we discover that it's full of rotting meat and dead animals. In reality, the whole house would have smelt like an abattoir for days before hand and the stench would have permeated out into the neighbourhood. A non-airtight wooden door would not have kept that kind of smell located to the basement only.

Mercury

Character mistake: After Ricky has just killed his girlfriend with the car antenna, he's challenged by a police officer. Officers would never walk right up to someone who have just committed a murder. Police would always order the suspect into a position that presents the least amount of threat and minimal chance of resistance. Grabbing the officer's gun would never had been an option.

Mercury

Continuity mistake: When the mother superior enters the kitchen to retrieve a knife to protect herself, there is a coffee mug on the bench in front of a white vase. When she turns around to exit the kitchen, the vase is visible, but there is now no coffee mug. Even at a different angle the mug should still be visible as well.

Mercury

Plot hole: The police are on the trail of a known psychotic and mass murderer. When they turn up at the house of the mother superior, it's evident Ricky has been there, as the door has been cut open and kicked in. There is no way the other nun would have been able to freely enter the house without police escort, or even get out of the police car, as Ricky had not been located and apprehended. The house is a potential crime scene and she would not have been allowed in.

Mercury

Continuity mistake: When Ricky and the mother superior are at the top of the stairs, in closeup Ricky raises the axe right up over his head ready to strike and he has one hand at the bottom of the handle and the other hand further up the handle. Cut to the next scene where the mother superior is ready to leap from her wheelchair, and Ricky is now suddenly backed into the corner. With no room for the axe to be behind him, his arms are no longer raised and his hands are now together, both at the bottom of the axe handle.

Mercury

Trivia: The house number of the strict, God-fearing mother superior is "666" - the number of the beast.

Mercury

Other mistake: When Ricky confronts the mother superior in the dining room, Ricky raises the axe above his head and brings it straight down in one single motion. Both Ricky and the mother superior are facing each other. At that angle, it would have been impossible for Ricky to decapitate her. At best her head would have been cleaved in half, but not decapitated.

Mercury

Continuity mistake: While Ricky is on his shooting spree, he manages to shoot at an oncoming car, causing it to to crash and roll over. As the car rights itself, the driver and the car seats are visible. The right rear passenger window is also fully intact. Just before the car explodes, the driver has disappeared, along with the car seats and the same rear side window is now completely missing.

Death Warrant (1990)

Deliberate mistake: Towards the end of the movie, when Van Damme and the Sandman are fighting in the boiler room, the Sandman gets kicked into an open furnace for some time and then jumps out covered in flames. It's noticeable that he still has a full head of hair, which is impossible. Hair would be the first thing burnt right down to the scalp within a matter of seconds.

Robocop 2 (1990)

Continuity mistake: At the start of the movie when the gun store is being robbed, one of them fires a portable rocket launcher at the police car, causing it to roll over and spin. As it comes to a stop just outside the store, it's visible that the driver's side window has been blown out, and the vehicle interior is visible, however when the same guy prepares to fire the bazooka to finish it off, the window has returned and is completely intact.

Mercury

Continuity mistake: There is a scene at the school, where Quentin and Nancy are talking by the lockers. Quentin is wearing a Joy Division shirt. The jacket he is wearing over the shirt keeps changing depending on whether it's a closeup of Quentin or a shot of both him and Nancy. You can easily tell, as the band's name is partially obscured during closeup and fully revealed when it's further away. This changes back and forth several times during that scene. Quentin doesn't move enough to warrant the jacket changing so noticeably. (00:18:15)

The Burning (1981)

Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the film, Alfred freaks out when he sees Cropsy come up to the cabin window. On the DVD, Cropsy's face is seen as just dark and disfigured. However at the end of the film at the abandoned mine, you see that Cropsy's face has dramatically changed from being just disfigured to having more of a melted appearance.

The Burning (1981)

Revealing mistake: In the raft scene where the garden shears end up hitting parts of the raft, there is one scene where the shears cut through one of the planks of wood. You can see that the plank gets cut too cleanly. No matter how sharp garden shears are or how fast they are being swung around, wood doesn't get cut this way. This plank has been pre-cut.
