Continuity mistake: When the original Doug brings the concrete worker to fix the house for Laura, Keaton uses a red sweater with a number one on it, and a white t-shirt under; But a couple scenes later, when he is talking to number three Doug and eating a sandwich, the white t-shirt has disappeared.
Trivia: Michael Keaton is seen wearing a Penn State hat. Keaton was born in Pennsylvania and is a long time resident of Pittsburgh, although Penn State is not his alma mater.
Trivia: The character's name, Doug Kinney, is a tribute to writer Chris Miller's friend, Doug Kenney. Miller and Kenney wrote National Lampoon's Animal House.
Trivia: When Three calls Doug's job to say that Doug is sick, on the day of a building inspection, Michael Keaton uses the same voice that he did in the movie "Beetlejuice." The building inspector is played by Glenn Shadix, who was also in the movie "Beetlejuice."
