Willard

Other mistake: In the scene where Willard is in his bedroom closet, he is trying to block the hole that Ben has created. On a closet shelf there is a Christmas Decorations box. The exact same box can be seen on a shelf behind his boss in the office supply room.

Continuity mistake: When the rats are tearing the newspaper, the amount of damage to it is inconsistent. At one point they've torn all the way through the blue banner at the top of the page; later it is whole again.

Continuity mistake: When Willard feeds the rats in the basement, the container of nuts is next to a Coke bottle. When he leaves the basement, there is no bottle and the lid from the nuts container is in a different place.

Trivia: When Willard's boss is working on his spreadsheet program, just before the rats show up, he is not entering the spreadsheet formula properly. He is entering the actual numbers like 235+345+315 instead of using cell addresses like =A1+B1+C1. Not really a mistake because his character could be an idiot on spreadsheets. Just an interesting observation.

Question: Why didn't the filmmakers use the original movie's ending where Willard gets eaten?

Chosen answer: Pure marketing. The original ending was the shot of Ben in the window, but test audiences thought the movie was too dark already. The rest of the end was filmed months later, with Willard stabbing a bean bag.
