Ten Commandments (1956)

Revealing mistake: When the parted Red Sea comes together, if you look behind Pharaoh as his troops are being engulfed by the water, notice in the background that there are two boulders floating in the water, not being pushed, but floating lightly.

Other mistake: When Rameses places the dead body of his son on the statue next to his throne, watch as it cuts to a shot of the side of the statue. A dummy was used in this scene, and it becomes obvious. Check out his hair, which looks like plastic, and his eyes, which look like little circles.

Revealing mistake: All of the women in the film have 1950's-style haircuts.

Question: How did Moses cross the Red Sea the first time he went to Mount Sinai?

Chosen answer: Although the Bible never states this, it's implied that he got to Mt. Sinai via an alternate route...after all, he did spend 40 days in the desert wandering around without any direction to go to. Afterwards was a different story.

Question: As Rameses is getting dressed by his servants, Nefretiri stops one servant and takes a sword from him. The shot then cuts to Rameses getting dressed and then Nefretiri comes to give him the sword. What exactly did she do with it: did she stab her dead son (who is placed on that statue), or did she do something else?

Chosen answer: She didn't do anything with it. She took the sword so she could help dress her husband herself.

Question: How did Moses' Egyptian mother explain where Moses came from? Her husband was dead and this baby just happened?

Chosen answer: Bithiah (not sure of the spelling, sorry) claims the Gods of the Nile sent Moses to her, knowing she would never have a child of her husband's body.
