Other mistake: They make it clear to us that the portals are one-way gates (from origination to destination). However, the last portal is two-way.
Trivia: At the scene where Jake and Roland are walking through the rusty theme park in Midworld, there is a huge sign saying "PENNYWISE", the name of the demon clown from "It", also by Stephen King.
Trivia: The number for the portal in the Midworld village is "14-08." 1408 was a book, also by Stephen King, about a haunted hotel room.

Man in Black: You can't stop what's coming. Death always wins.
Question: Why doesn't the teacher at Jake's school punish the bully for teasing Jake?
Answer: All the bully really did was take the book out of Jake's hand and Jake violently assaulted him in retaliation. Jake's action was much worse. Also, we are never actually shown what punishment the bully received, he very well could have been punished in some way that was never mentioned.
