Their First Mistake (1932)

Continuity mistake: When we see Oliver reading his newspaper at the beginning of the short, the door behind him is open. In the next shot, the door is closed, and in the following shot, the door is open again.

Continuity mistake: When Oliver chases Stan out of the kitchen, Oliver loses the slipper on his right foot and it flies out of the door, but in the next shot, the slipper is back on Oliver's foot again.

Trivia: When Stan and Oliver return to the flat with the baby, Stan offers a man a cigar. This man is the film's director, George Marshall.

Trivia: The original script had Mrs Hardy returning with another adopted baby of her own, but so much time and money had been spent on adding Stan Laurel's improvisations that there was no budget left to film it.

Oliver: She says I think more of you than I do of her.
Stanley: Well you do, don't you?
Oliver: Well, we won't go into that.

Stanley: I'm not as dumb as you look.
