Factual error: In the opening short "Pikachu's Rescue Adventure" in the Bellossom song and dance scene a Poliwhirl calls itself a Poliwrath. This is obviously a mistake because of the body differences between the Pokemon.

Continuity mistake: When Ash prepares to send out Bulbasaur, the front of his hat goes from being aligned to the left of the visor to being past it. (00:06:15)

Other mistake: When Ash and friends are first seen walking up stairs, Pikachu's tail is briefly mistakenly coloured brown with a yellow base instead of yellow with a brown base. (00:15:13)

Plot hole: After Slowking asks Ash if he has the third treasure, Ash says "Here it is, Slowking." How did Ash know that the Pokemon was a Slowking? He had never even seen one before that time.

Continuity mistake: When Misty is talking about Melody at a table when having food, the palm trees in the background move and change. (00:16:09)

Continuity mistake: When Lawrence III begins walking to his console, the stand that he is near has two rectangles on the left side, but in the next shot, it only has one. (00:01:37)

Continuity mistake: When Melody is talking about becoming Festival Maiden, her left hand is facing perpendicular to and outwards from her, but in the next shot, it is facing parallel to and inwards towards her. (00:13:42)

Continuity mistake: When Pikachu leaves the table, there is no cup next to the spaghetti, but in the next shot there is. Also, there is a straw in the cup near Misty, but in the next shot, it vanishes. Additionally, the utensils are touching each other at an end, but in the next shot they are not. (00:18:53)

Trivia: Since it is mostly inappropriate to mention religion in a children's film in the United States, the Pokemon gods were changed into "Titans."
