Continuity mistake: When Patch and his roommate are arguing about why he wanted Patch out of the college, the book on the desk changes to a very different looking book between shots - note the tabs and red-edged pages.

Continuity mistake: In the scene following Carin's death when Patch is packing his bag to leave the clinic, his shirt collar is not pressed and is open down to the first button. In the next scene at the hospital, his collar is neatly pressed and open only halfway to the first button. In the next scene on the ridge near the clinic, his collar is once again unpressed.

Continuity mistake: When Patch puts a red nose on, the second kid he amuses randomly swaps from having his head raised to slouched against the pillow; also his arms swap from crossed to uncrossed between shots.

Continuity mistake: As Patch goes to leave the dean's office to get his records, the dean goes to move his left hand to get up. When the camera cuts to a front shot of the dean, he's just dropping the pen, and moving his left hand to get up again.

Continuity mistake: When Patch and his girl are sitting on the front porch at the cabin, he goes to kiss her, and she looks down. When he pulls away, and asks "What are we?" she is still looking down. When the camera cuts to look at her, she's suddenly looking directly at him.

Patch Adams: I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly without complexities or pride. I love you because I know no other way then this. So close that your hand, on my chest, is my hand. So close, that when you close your eyes, I fall asleep.
