Overboard

Question: When Dean and Annie are at the restaurant/bar, they go outside and with plastic wine type glasses Dean pours some champagne in their glasses. When Annie picks up her glass, the bottom comes off. She says, Oh I lost my bottom! Was that in the script or was it a blooper? I've always felt it was a blooper and if it was Annie covered it so well. Thanks.

Answer: Goldie Hawn mentioned in an interview that it was a blooper. She explained that she and Kurt Russell are so comfortable with one another that it wasn't really like acting, and she reacted naturally.

Question: When Grant comes to find Annie/Joanna, how does he know exactly where to go to find her? He ends up at Dean's house without knowing where he lives.

Answer: This is just speculation, but since he knew what hospital she'd been in, he likely went there and asked who'd claimed her and where they lived. It wouldn't be too difficult.

Factual error: This story takes place in Oregon, but the Coast Guard cutter says "Point Evans" on the stern. This boat would be dispatched from Los Angeles, California.

Suggested correction: Point Evans is the ships actual name...below it you can see a fresh coat of white paint below it saying Elk Snout instead of its actual home port in Southern California.

Capt. Karl: What're you doing?
Annie: I'm turning the boat around.
Capt. Karl: Why?
Annie: I'm going home.
Capt. Karl: You're turning that wheel around too fast.
