Question: After arguing with Merida about her behavior at the archery tournament, Elinor throws her bow into the fire place, and then Merida flees. Eventually, Merida returns to the castle, and then leaves while protecting her mother, who has turned into a bear. Merida also brings a bow with her that time. Is that the same bow her mother tried to burn or is that a different bow? (01:33:00)

Answer: Different bow. Merida's bow had decorative carvings on it, but this bow is plain.

Question: As the triplets misguide Fergus and the lords through the castle with a dead frog on a stick they use as a bear's shadow, Fergus and the lords end up on top of a tower. Since they are locked out, they manage to climb down on their kilts, which they remove from themselves and tie together. Why couldn't they just break through the door to get back into the castle instead? (01:33:00)

Answer: They didn't want to destroy the door, probably.

Question: When Merida runs out of the castle, was she crying because of Elinor burning her prized bow, or that Elinor "was never there for her?" Also, Merida is shown with another bow later on. If it's the same bow that was burned, how was the bowstring fixed?

Answer: Merida was upset and crying over everything her mother had done. Also, that was the same bow. Bowstrings are commonly breakable and can be easily replaced. Merida may have had an extra stashed away or knew where to get one.

Also if you look carefully the bow has a circle on either side of the bow which looks like extra bowstring even then she probably has a stash somewhere.

Question: It is stated that Merida is a tomboy. What exactly made her a tomboy in the first place? Can someone also please point out her tomboy behaviors just so I can get a better idea?

Answer: Nothing "makes" a tom boy, it's something they're born with. Some girls, myself included, from earliest childhood, just prefer engaging in sports or other physical activities and like exploring and being outdoors. Merida shows she is a tom boy because she easily adapts to using the bow and arrow and also likes being in the outdoors, hunts, and can use a weapon to defend herself, rather than relying on someone else to protect her. She is a natural-born leader.

Question: The witch made the bear Mor'du, in her shop has a bunch of bear carvings, and also turned Merida's mom in a bear. Did the with mess up the spell and made the bears by accident, or did she change them into bears on purpose?

Answer: The witch seems to have an obsession with bears which makes the more likely scenario that the potion turned them into bears on purpose.

Plot hole: During the scene where Merida gives her speech on "breaking tradition", her mother, as a bear, moves silently behind the majority of the crowd, so they don't see her. Fair enough. However, Merida and her father's clan are all looking in the same general direction (towards the crowd) while she's speaking - how does no one from Merida's clan see a bear moving at the back of the room?
