Saw 3D

Question: Why does Dr Gordon decide to work with John? And why does he put himself, his daughter and wife in extreme danger?

laviiebelle

Answer: He, his wife and his daughter were abducted before he decided to work with Jigsaw. He didn't put them in danger. As for why he decided to work with Jigsaw following his ordeal, like other characters in the franchise, he either developed a level of Stockholm syndrome or he concluded that Jigsaw's methods were right, or a combination of both.

Question: What happens to Bobby Dagen after he fails to save his wife from being incinerated?

Answer: We are never told or shown, but it could be speculated that he was trapped in the building or died from his injuries.

How do you know that?

They don't know. They qualified their answer as being speculation.

Question: In this film we see what happens to Dr Gordon after Saw. Were these shots filmed in 2003 when Saw was filmed, or were they filmed in 2010 with this film?

Ssiscool

Chosen answer: They were filmed in 2010 for this film. When the original film was made, it was intended to be a one-and-done, direct-to-video movie. They didn't know that there would be more than a half-dozen sequels and that Dr. Gordon would be revealed as a mastermind all along, so they'd have no reason to film such scenes. A sequel wasn't even announced until the original film tested well during festival screenings, was given a theatrical release and became a big hit. You can also kind of tell because the first film and this film were shot on different mediums (film and digital) and have a different aesthetic, and the first film also didn't have the budget for some of the digital effects used in those scenes (such as digitally removing Gordon's food).

Question: The news reporter on the TV of Hoffman's hideout said there were 7 survivors from William Easton's "test." I counted 6; the diabetic family woman, the 2 women from the carousel trap, the widow mother and her son, and William's sister. Was there another survivor that I did not account for, and if so, who is it?

Answer: There are only 6 survivors.

Continuity mistake: Saw VII takes place straight after Saw VI. In Saw VI we see Jill put Hoffman in the bear trap and leave. We then see that Hoffman spends around 45 seconds trying to get the trap off before putting in the bars on the window. In this film however, just after Jill closes the door we see the glass break. No delay. (00:08:20)

Trivia: The "Horsepower Trap" (the car trap involving Even and his friends) was an idea that writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan have tried to get into several "Saw" films before, only to be told by the producers that it was too gruesome and cruel. Knowing this was the intended final film, the producers finally allowed them to include the scene.
