Continuity mistake: Just before the diner scene, where the two aliens are discussing the galaxy, we see the outside of the Russian restaurant. The neon sign says "haroshaya" meaning "good" all the way across the window, in the next shot inside the restaurant, the "ha", which looks like the English letters "xo", is gone and the sign is centered. While chasing down a criminal, NYPD James Edwards, realises the guy is not really just a guy. He is taken out by Agent K and told to show up for a test the next day. When he arrives, he is there among many men from all branches of the military. He is quick witted in all the test and when confronted with the shooting range, is the only one to correctly identify the target. He is taken under the wing of Agent K, one of the best agents of the Men in Black. Meanwhile a bug has landed and taken the body of a human man, he hijacks a exterminator truck and heads off to find a universe. He kills the two ambassadors protecting it and steals diamonds instead of the universe. The bodies go to the morgue where Dr. Laurel Weaver, discovers that they are not aliens. After much chasing around, they find the universe around the collar of one of the ambassador's cat, Orion. The bug steals it and tries to escape, J, K and Dr. L all destroy the alien and save the universee. Laurel becomes J's new partner when K retires and neuralyzes himself so he can live with his wife.
Beatrice: I'll tell you something right now; I know Edgar and that wasn't Edgar. It's like something was wearing Edgar like a suit. An Edgar suit.
Question: When I watched both films in succession, I noticed the same person played both the man on desk at the morgue and Newton, the video store owner in the second film. Is there a reason for him being in both films?
