Factual error: When Brian and Peter meet on Brighton seafront in the 70s, the camera shows a view looking towards Hove; the metal skeleton of the West Pier is visible - it burnt down in 2003.

Factual error: We see a caption saying "Leeds 0 Luton 1." In reality, that match was a tie game.

Low Cow

Factual error: Towards the end of the film when Brian Clough goes to see Peter Taylor at his house in Brighton, there is a 'Pay & Display' ticket machine visible in the car park in the background. The film-makers have done a good job at placing period vehicles in shot but seem to have forgotten the shiny black new (solar powered?) ticket machine.

Factual error: The East Stand at Elland Road is visible in the tunnel shot when Clough confronts the players - the stand was not built until 1992.

leedsfan

Factual error: Brian Clough did manage Brighton & Hove Albion, contrary to what the narrator states at the end of the film. He managed the club alongside Peter Taylor for most of the 1973-4 season. The team finished 19th this season.

Low Cow

Factual error: The police officers shown at the Baseball Ground are wearing the wrong helmets. Derby County & County Borough Constabulary officers wore the coxcomb, not the Metropolitan Police rose top style.

jumty

Other mistake: The commentator says that Derby deposed Leeds as League Champion, but Arsenal held the title before Derby did.

Low Cow

Factual error: In the scene where Brian Clough is getting the Baseball Ground read for the arrival of Leeds United in the third round of the FA Cup in 1968, you can see the snorting Ram logo over one of the entrances. This logo was not introduced until the 1971-72 season.

jumty

Factual error: When Clough and Taylor are driving off to sign Dave Mackay, you can see a Ford Capri in a driveway. This was set in 1968, and these cars didn't go on sale until a year later.

Revealing mistake: In the scene where Brian Clough is at home you can see double glazed upvc windows, even though they were not around until the 1990s.

Mattrob

Factual error: When Leeds United arrive at the baseball ground in 1968 there is an extra with a JD Sports bag on his back. JD Sports was founded in 1981.

Brian Clough: We're from the north, Pete. What do we care about Brighton? Bloody southerners. Look where we are! We're almost in France.
